Dark Prophecy with Tri Cree Arctic Blue

Arctic Blue looks incredible on that hilt, nice choice!  I knew a guy once who used a Consular pommel on his Dark Prophecy as well, he swore by it.  All in all, a very cool hilt you've got there.  Welcome to the Dark Prophecy club haha

I've meant to ask - does your EG Prophecy have FoC?

Nope, it's an older LED (Luxeon V Cyan Bin 3), so FoC isn't possible.  It's ok though, FoC is awesome but it's not an absolute requirement for me generally.  If this LED dies at any point, which happens after a while, I'll probably get FoC on whatever replaces it.

I'd never swap it now though, because I just love the color!

By the way, would you say that the color looks a bit greeny, I mean more green than the regular Arctic Blue?? Cause I think that 2 diodes are blue, and 1 is green, and there are not 3 of a same light blue color... Any way, the regular AB is 2 diodes, 1 blue and the other green, so having 2 blues and 1 green would make a more bluer color...

There is a slight "aquaness" to this blue, but it really looks mostly like a "true" blue to me.

Yeah, it's really true.  I love my Emerald Electrum Wind to be able to change to any color I want, but TRI is definitely just as awesome in a different way, one very bright color vs. other colors that are just bright.  In fact, today I just mailed my Consular that I bought at Salt Lake Comic Con in Guardian Blue without Quick Disconnect to UltraSabers to have them add a quick disconnect and send me a TRI-GREEN with quick disconnect back for it - so excited for that to come back.  Gonna be so gorgoeous that green will!

Yeah, that's not really a word I guess  , but it's definitely not greeny like Sunriders Destiny.  It's like the green LED in there provides a fuller, slightly warmer looking blue, and I don't think of green at all when I look at it, yet I know there is green in it.  It's sweet.

Thanks -very cool on your Consular, too! That's sweet! I have the Consular in Guardian Blue with a blue illuminated black AV switch, the shroud removed with a Dark Manticore Emitter and an Dark Archon pommel.   It's where I got this idea that the TRI-AB would probably look cool.

Yes, I understood, by aqua, you mean water or ice, that it's more clear. Glad to hear that about this new Tri AB color. On my next saber I'll go with Tri GB with quick disconects, and I'll purchase the Tri AB led later on...

It's grown on me like that, too! I'm wishin I had a red instead of blue AV switch on my Consular now.  I got a white one on my Electrum Wind (Emerald), but red would have worked really well, too.

For me, if I had to get an iluminated AV, it would be red (simulating Qui Gon's button) or something more neutral like white or yellow... In your case it matches your GB consular, but now that you are having quick disconects, it maybe wont look as great with every color, but it wont be a big deal, blue is always a nice color, it will look great with your new tri CG led anyway...

Thanks for the reassurance!  Yeah, my son had the same thought about that button looking like the red button on the movie sabers. It looks even better and more vivid in person.  I chose a white LED on a silver AV switch on my Electrum Wind, and it does blend very well with any color.  Plus with the Emerald Driver you can control the brightness of the AV switch if you've dedicated a channel to it (in my case, the white of the RGBW 4 channel driver).  I didn't completely know what I was doing when I bought my first UltraSaber at Comic Con, and I remember thinking at the time how just having a blue illuminated button matching the blade color was cool and didn't even know about quick disconnects.  Now I know about QD and TRI LEDs as well as the potential for Amber in a 4 channel RGBA Emerald w/o the illuminated AV, so I'm definitely more certain of what options I will want on future saber purchases.  UltraSabers is the best thing ever!

I definitely used to prefer pairing the switch color with the blade color on sabers, but more and more I'm stepping outside of that restriction.  Like they said, this combo (red switch with blue blade) is a great example of an unusual but very effective pairing.
