So, i was just talking with one of my housemates who has just seen The Force Awakens. However, during our chat it became clear that she didn't know who Kylo Ren was!! She kept referring to him as "the Darth Vader guy". I think i should ask her to move out.

I'd tell her to pack her bags I know she's a muggle (non-geeky, non star wars, non sci-fi fan) but that is no excuse for not payimg attention when watching a movie. She couldn't remember any of the names of any of the characters beyond Luke, Leia and Han. I take my movie watching very seriously (i have about 600 dvds and around 200 blu-ray in my collection) and i never expect people to love movies I like as much as I do, but i at least expect them to follow the movie and be able recollect the names of the main characters. I always thought that was the bare minimum when watching any movie, but maybe my expectations are too high! lol |

In your friend's defense, there were a few spots where the dialogue moved so fast that even though I heard certain names spoken I literally couldn't hear what they were. I had to look up Poe's name on Wookieepedia after I got home and had not been sure of Maz, either. The speed of dialogue was WAY greater in TFA.
Now, Kylo Ren I at least knew going in. But I can see where some of that might have happened.

Really? You thought the dialogue moved fast? The only thing I had to check when I got home was whether Han said "Ben" or "Ren" when they were on the bridge. |

so interesting shift today
been waiting all day for the big kick off, fizzeled out and nothing happened
got message from my brother telling me that the garage with well over £10,000 worth of motorbikes was "sparking and brightly flashing", fuse box is now off and it seems to be safe for now
nearly got the hang of company of heroes world builder, V1 of "Merville Battery" is nearly ready for release

I know. But i like going old skool and watching the odd movie on VCR every so often. Brings back great memories of the video rental days. |
