The DX7 for your listening pleasure.  It, and the Fairlight CMI*, are responsible for a lot of the cold, creepy sounds you remember from 80's synthesizer music when done right.

When it comes to creepy, otherworldly sounding instruments, it's tough to beat the theremin...
