For the record, I do not like little dogs, at all. I don't see the point. Not just toy dogs like this Shihitzu, even terriers, beagles, etc. I've always been a big dog kinda girl, likely because I grew up with them. We had a couple Labs when I was younger, a mutt when I was REALLY young that I think had some size, not sure(she was a giant to me, but she died before I was ten, I think). Most of my memories are of the Labs, and our Border Collie who's the current pet. Actually he and his sister were the smallest I remember, and I still wish Scooter was bigger. I'm also dead set on a Husky or Malamute, since I've wanted on for a long time. |

How about a Husky Malamute mix. That is what our dog was. Cutest thing ever when he was a puppy. Needed more work than we gave him though. |

I hate to say it because I love all animals, but I could never personally have a little dog. Nothing to do with their temperament or anything. I had a Border Collie Australian Shepard mix once. I've never met such a smart dog. Only dog I ever had. He was my step dads (technically) so the dog left with him when I was 11. I still miss that dog. I was his boy. And he wouldn't let anything happen to me. And yet he would only bark if someone he didn't know entered our home. I don't blame you for wanting a Husky either. Great dogs. |

Not much of a little dog person myself. I've always had Labs and most dogs I've had good relations with were larger dogs. Growing up, my best friend had a Malamute and she was a great dog (was also a giant to me at the time but she was always so nice to us kids). |

I'm open to mixes, especially those two. I'm a fan of the wolf like appearance. German Sheppards are another favorite of mine. Same reason, wolfish. Basically, I need to at least be able to tell the thing is related to wolves(Fun fact, your dog is a subspecies of Gray Wolf, hence why they can breed.). I know Huskies and Mutes are hard to care for, they need a lot of attention and exercise, but I'm actually looking for a dog to run with, both for protection, as well as companionship while I do so. I figure most people aren't going to target the girl with the Husky running next to her. And if they do, they're stupid. |

No need to cross out the stupid, being stupid often goes hand and hand with being food. I generally prefer the smaller dogs, terriers and such, not the toys. Big dogs are nice and many have great personalities but they are just too much work. Also if they are couch or bed dogs you need a full couch and an extra mattress added to the king so you have some room. |
