Hi MavRick, good to see you again.

Glad you liked the Graflex saber as I consider it to be the best model I've built in Blender. It has custom material textures I made myself and there's even an animated crystal chamber I haven't shown. The hilt took me about three weeks to build!

And today (May 15th) I am waiting for a courier to deliver my replacement TV (for the replacement set I bought and was DOA) -Force willing!

Hello there....

Well my widescreen TV blew up this past week but in good news I did manage to get to my local cinema and saw Revenge of the Sith before Disney withdrew again....and it reminded me I had a couple of trinkets in storage....





And I know they aren't the actual versions seen in the film but are representative. Thanks for checking them out - and sorry I've been a bit quiet recently.

It's THESE two lightsabers that started my obsession interest in "elegant weapons of a more enlightened age" from my childhood.  And they NEVER looked so good as they do here!

My hat's off to FT for his incredible renderings!

P.S. Did I mention that I love, LOVE, LOVE these sabers?!

The magma glow on the background really sets those sabers off, great image, it's like how they should be displayed in a museum of Galactic histroy or something!

Hello LSG, it's good to hear from you again and I hope you're doing well.
This background I have had lying around for ages, believe it or not I made it when I did that Star Destroyer model you used for your "Remnants/Shadows of the Aether" stories. Somehow I stored a copy of the background on a USB stick before my laptop crash troubles and recently rediscovered it. When I went to see the ROTS anniversary I had to use it for my tribute. Thanks as always.

And Yikes! I didn't realise how long ago it was since I posted something here. I kinda got side-tracked by Bugs and Sony Walkmans but unfortunately real world life sort of got in the way recently (can't say too much about it but to say I'm fuming about my current circumstances would be an understatement).

So to try and stay centred and "Jedi-like" I had best post another little saber....well a little dagger to be precise. Enjoy....

Alas yes real life tests us all, ever more so these past few years it seems.

Regardless a great render again For, the reflections on the blade certainly look like it is taking the brunt of the harsh Arrakis sun! Those movies certainly have a unique aesthetic that I'm sure you could tap into further in the future, perhaps a 'Harkonnen' white/black inverted style saber

Hi LSG, thanks very much for the suggestion - you are full of inspiration - but funnily enough I did start work on a Harkonnen House blade but lost it in one of my tech issues. HOWEVER! There is good news as I did save the House of Atreides weapon I made which I could post sometime this week. As a tease here is the title image...

(I know it might seem a bit blocky and uncomfortable but I based it on the blades from the 2020 reboot not classic 1984 Dune).

And thanks to you too Dutch! As you know my situation I will say I'm going to be less quiet about it and speak my mind more to the supposed "authority figures" and they ain't gonna like it!
But back to more happy topics...it's funny you mention the crossover of Dune and Star Wars....I mean Lor San Tekka was in Dune before Star Wars....

Meh. Call it a vibroblade dagger. It's all good in-universe. Although, the blade of the crysknife is made from the tooth.

I think I was just starting to experiment with my Katanas and other styles of blades so just went with the idea in my head. I was also caught between doing a Feyd Harkonnen blade or a Paul Atreides type knife.

Anyhoo, I'll be working on some more corrections/updates.
