FINALLY! After the sneak peak at comic-con and a couple of promotional photos, fans may be forgiven for forgetting this movie is coming out. David Harbour (of Stranger Things fame) replaces fan favourite Ron Perlman as our favourite hero from hell in this new version that we've been promised will be closer in tone to the Mike Mignola comics. Plus, it has Jinn from Lost AND Ian McShane.

I know they are saying that this is a new movie/franchise reboot, but I watched the trailer 3 times now and it seems a lot more like a sequel/soft reboot of Del Toro's movies. Which is no bad thing. Plus more monsters and, as already mentioned, Milla Jovovich (totally off topic, but the Resident Evil movies are a guilty pleasure of mine. Yes, the movies are bad, but they're also ridiculous and gratuitous in a good way and most of all, they are fun).

Agreed with the Hellboy and Resident Evil. I can watch up to 3 but after that, it gets a bit.... muddy for me. I do like the 5th one where the original characters from the first returns. |

The ver knowledgeable bloke from Emergency Awesome breaks down some of the footage we see in the trailer and explains elements that relate to the comic's mythology. REALLY interesting.

This looks really good. I need to watch the originals again. (I almost picked up the 2-pack DVD at work last week) Ron Pearlman is awesome, but David Harbour definitely looks like he has the same mojo. Milla Jovovich being an Antagonist?
