Hello All! I am new to the saber-collecting community. I currently only have a Fallen with Basic Sound in Pyerstone Orange and I absolutely love it! I'm currently looking for something that's a decent spinner, but one that can also be made into an effective saberstaff. I really like the design of the Savior LE in Sunrider's Destiny. I kind of want to play around with premium sound, and I'd eventually like to get a second (w/ coupler) to make a staff. The thing is, I'm not sure what blade size to get. What's a good size saberstaff for a 5'7 guy?

If you have any recommendations let me know! Thank you!

Hi!

Blade recommendation: You are 5'7", so you should probally go with 32 inch blades, but that also depends on what two hilts you have coupled together.

As for recommendations on good sabers that could be coupled together but also be used as a single saber? I like the Aeon V4. But I also am the guy who couples 2 Scropions together and swings that around.

Hey there, Darth Kraujas, as a fellow saber flow artist, I prefer the Aeon, Dominix, or Sentinel V4s since they're easy to spin with and are really versatile.

I don't own a Savior so I can't speak on that saber but it looks quite nice and is in my wish list to own

I really really love my Aeon v4's in a staff-setup. And as Infinite allready mentioned Sentinels are great spinners as well.
I would advice the 32"blades, 36" is just to long to handle in a relaxed way.
If your not that tall you might want to consider 2 Initiates as a hilt and/or 24"blades.

You mentioned you want to start spinning, so I assume you are a beginner at this. You also said you're thinking about premium sound.
I can't make the decision for you, but in my experience you'll drop your saber often when learning to spin. Very often.
Maybe I'm just extremely clumsy, but without sounding arrogant, as a world champion (Taiwan 2018) in Tai Chi Chuan, I think I'm allowed to say that you'll drop your weapon alot. And with adding sound to your hilt, you add more parts that can break. I would advice to save up a little bit more and invest in the extra hilt without sound and have a stunt saberstaff for practicing and later add one for sound.

What Tai Chi said, all of my spin sabers are stunts that I've beaten up and broken only to fix them to beat up again. Having sound will equal having more things to break and they're costly with sound.

Third on the Aeon V4 as a spinner.  With a 32" blade it is very well balanced.  It also couples into a very nice saber staff.  :-)

However, my own preference for staff configuration is actually the Initiate V3 x2 with a flush adjustable coupler and 32" blades.  Its about perfect, though you need to extend it a bit with a premium pommel to really make it a good spinner.

Beautifull black accents on those Aeons Karmack.
Do I remeber correctly that you painted them?

Yes.   The main rings are sprayed with Rustoleum "Black Steel" metallic satin finish, and the machined rings are finished with Testors "Model Master" Gunmetal.  Turned out nicely.

The Savior looks to be a 12" hilt, and then you got at least 1.5" of coupler. So you're looking at easily 25" of hilt.

67 - 25 = 42"

42 / 2 = 21" (minus about 2" of blade into the emitter) => ~19" per blade.

For your height and the length of the desired hilt, I'd recommend 24s.

Here are some comparisons of different Ultrasabers staves but all with 32 inch blades installed. I am 5'11". The V2 is my daughter's.  She also fights with it. They are not bad for spinning although the Menace has many greeblies to get under in the way.

Initiate V2 with coupler, Menace with TCSS universally adjustable coupler to keep the length down but allow alignment, and Sentinel LE V4s with US vented flush coupler to fight with:

That Sent LEv4 is nice!! Long as sin but danged NICE! It would be too long for me (5'7") but I wonder if it would still balance properly with a custom 28 or 30 inch blade?

Very attractive staves (staffs?), but I’m dangerous enough to all the breakables in the house with only a single-belated saber.  I will have to admire from afar for now.  Smiley

Best part about a staff, as long as the internals and the blade lengths and grades are the same its always balanced.

I feel rather dumb now bc that's such an obvious answer...

Thanks for the tip! The only thing that I didn't like about those two was that they were almost all silver. Any ideas for customizations that wouldn't inhibit spinning capabilities?
