Will Ultrasabers make Neopixel-Sabers some day?

Ive never owned a neopixel but from the looks of them, i absolutely love the idea of it. Sometimes having just a saber for looks is good too especially for cos play.

I own erm................12 neo pixel from various makers. If Deep says there's plans in the works for UltraSabers to eventually design and sell neo pixel as an option, i'm all for it.

MY hope for this then, is that they use the option to have accent leds in the emitter for when a blade plug is inserted instead of a blade. Some builders do this and I really like this effect.


Guess I need to put money aside for whenever this plan comes to fruition.

All I provided were reasons why they wouldn’t do it... any time soon. Deep confirmed they will do it, which is exciting for sure. I still don’t think it’s happening soon. Hope I’m wrong.

After 5 Sabers in 3 months to start my collection i am very excited for this. I did order one from another supplier as i wanted at least one NP saber. But i will have 4 US sabers when i get my new one and the 2nd place prize i won. So being able to stick with US in the future for a NP blade would be awesome. Esp if they do it with reasonable prices like a few companies out there right now that are doing quality at a very reasonable price (Got one under $400 that's very nice.). If i could have a saber from US that has all the fun things like Smoothswing, tip drag, blast bolt blocking and so on it would be amazing.

Given the relative fragility of the neopixel blades, I think it’d be more like Taco Bell trying to sell Pringles.

First, EXCELLENT analysis!  I absolutely loved your Pringles analogy!  Would you prefer lightside or darkside points?

Second, since Ultrasabers is known for their combat tested and ready lightsabers I would think that this will never be.  In looking at various videos on this, Thank you Master Sidious,  it seems that Neo Pixel is just too fragile for Ultrasabers is currently known for.  I just don't see a blade like this lasting in some of the combat videos I have seen on YouTube.  Neo Pixel is more for show pieces or Cosplay, in my opinion.

While the reasons stated above in terms of US specializing in combat ready sabers sound plausible, I also understand a company can certainly diversify and cast lines into more than one pond. I’ve also been doing a lot of research into the technology and saw a YT vid of a guy demonstrating a variety of neopixel blades. One was from China at a fraction of the cost many companies sell them for. This, probably more than anything else, told me the over inflated prices were coming down and would continue to do so as it becomes more commonplace...just like any other technological advancement.

And that told me it was more than likely US would find a point in time to do Neo-pixel and quite possibly make them affordable to a broader range of collectors. Because it’s not the blade technology that is really as expensive as some folks have sold them for. After all, a string of Christmas lights can be programmed to fire in a variety of sequences. The programmable sound card might be the most complicated thing, but even that’s coming way down in price after that initial crazy pricing. This technology isn’t exactly rocket science, just a little more specialized in terms of use when it comes to lightsabers. But becoming less so every few months. The more expensive sound boards are hyped to have ever expandable possibilities, but there are other really good boards out there that might have a bit more finite possibilities, but be more than capable of handling NP and still give people lots of cool effects.

Where is everyone getting this not combat ready idea? There are several hard hitters in The Saber Legion who have switch to pixel blades and report nothing but positive results. When the blades are assembled right and the correct diffusion foam used it is also padding.  I'm sure when US releases this option they will do us all right and have them made to combat worthy specifications.

The only pixel blades i have seen fail are those using mid-grade weight blade walls and those with defects in the strips to start with. These things are nothing like the older LED string blades.

I had thought I posted in reply to this, but I guess I had deleted it.

My current neo pixel lightsabers I do not consider combat ready, because of the overall cost and difficulty in purchasing them, but they are delightful to the eye. I also have 7 of the old string blade sabers and those are only display pieces. Basically because of watching those online videos of people breaking theirs. I don't have any of the new ones from (that place we do not name), instead I keep purchasing from UltraSabers. Very nice, affordable led lightsabers and a great forum community.

Now, with the admission that someday US will be in the neo pixel market, I can't wait to see what their version will be like, but I do know I want one, NOW! lol

Hearing the good news (US will make Neopixel blades someday) makes me even more impatient now ..... aaaargh! When ?? How long will it take?
I got a Neopixel blade from somewhere else, but I think Ultrasabers makes better hilts (and has soundboards with better accessible memory), so I really want an US Neopixel saber. Love what this new blade does and I am sure US will make even better blades than the one I have now.
