So I bought a custom saber and wanted to get a purple color for my blade. I thought the description and image of Blue Violet Amethyst seemed cool, but when I got it and turned it on the color was not what I was expecting. It is mostly blue towards the base of the blade, and then fades until it is pink at the end of the blade. I bought a 32in standard heavy-grade blade because I wanted to be able to hit it against things somewhat. I tried changing the batteries but that did not change anything. I guess my question is: Is this inconsistent color in the blade normal? Or is there something wrong with my LED that I need to contact support about? Or maybe I just need to get a different blade, like maybe a UltraEdge Heavy-Grade? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It is just the nature of the light mixing. The blue is more intense at the base because of its shorter wave-length and the fact that the red has a resister limiting power. This is how they bias the Violet color to be darker. As the light travels down the tube, a better mix is achieved. A similar effect happens when mixing Red and Green to make Sentinel Yellow. The red and green is more noticeable at the base, especially if you have an emitter with windows. But as you get farther from the MLS, the light mixes better. The overall issues with mixed colors come from the limited (cost effective) tech to produce a combat grade blade that can be illuminated. You might get better color results from a neo-pixel blade (internal LED chain) but then you lose the ability to duel.

I have DVA on my Emperor's Hand, but I usually rock 36s on my single blades.

Just wanted to echo what Logos said.   I have a DVA saber and I have the same slight change in color from base to tip.   I don't mind it, its quite minor, and I love the blue hint to the blade.  :-)   I generally pair mine with a normal VA blade in staff and it leaves the two halves with just a bit of difference, which gives the hilt character.   I think its my favorite color in my collection, after my filtered Sentinel Yellow blade.  :-)
