Saber not charging or batteries not holding charge?

I keep my graflex with a recharge port plugged in, and haven’t used it in months, decided to take it down and turn it on. The thing turns on for roughly 30 seconds to a minute before flickering and shutting off. I put it on the charger cord without the batteries and it comes on no issue. I then take the batteries and put them in the charger they came with. (Xstar ones that US uses) and they light up green as fully charged, but when placed in the saber they only last the same amount. Any help on what the issue could be would be greatly appreciated!!

It’s possible that the batteries have reached their expiration date.  How old are the batteries?

I’ve had the batteries and saber since November of 2018 I believe.

Hmm... I would not expect them to have died so quickly.  I’m not sure what else to do to troubleshoot here, other than to try the batteries in some other device that will accept 3.7V AA-size batteries (which is NOT your standard AA cell, so will NOT be your typical AA-powered device), or to buy a new pair of protected button-top Lithium-Ion 14500 cells (perhaps from UltraSabers, or some other REPUTABLE seller), and try using them.

Nitecore, XTAR, and Olight are other reputable name brands for Lithium-Ion batteries, and you need to be sure you’re getting protected button-top cells, not unprotected ones or flat-top ones.  If you don’t want to go to UltraSabers to order the batteries, then I’d highly recommend any of those three companies’ websites, or BatteryJunction.com to order them.

I’m just hoping it’s not the saber innards itself having issues.
