I would totally be a Fire Bender. All of my favorite DnD spells had "fire" in the name, and I designed a race of drow loosely based on the Fire Benders from Avatar. BURN!!!! Grin

Why do I read this and hear Beavis and Butthead chortling about FIRE!  FIRE!  Heh!  Heh-heh!

Cool

Hmm tough choice, I like both Air and Water myself. However, I would have to go with Air. Not only is it in junction with my Zodiac sign, but I love a lot of the stuff it can do and theorized as doing.
Flight: I always wanted the ability to fly, especially since I have a fear of heights it would help with that.
Changing air pressure: Not only could you effect someone's ability to breathe, you could also pressure cook someone or freeze them.
Manipulating air consistency: You could effectively create a charge to do lightning manipulation, create explosive gas (or I can do that if you give me curry Cheesy), or create moisture.  (water + lightning).
Also the added bonus of being able to really screw with other elements: Fire (remove oxygen to kill flame or increase it), Earth (air pressure to create dust storms that could shred someone or
lift the ground beneath someone's feet then make it blow away), and Water (removing the oxygen from water, effecting the consistancy of water, etc...)

In terms of the Force, I like the potential for both Lightside and Darkside that Air bending is capable of...especially the destructive purposes. Cheesy It's good to be evil sometimes. Plus could you imagine
sapping all the Oxygen from someone's blood. Mwahahahahaha!

As an Earth Bender, I would throw Uranium at my enemies. Grin Grin

Hey Manroon, I was totally going to say I would be a uranium bender! Tongue

I think that Air and Water are the best elements for bending. Earth can be very limiting, and Fire is just too aggressive.

That is an interesting thought, truly.

I suspect each bending element could be limited, but not by the element.  The element is what it is, but the bending aspect is more a matter of creative thought, process, and imagination than what the actual element has to offer by itself.  With each element comes a comparative behavior...Earth:resilience...Fire:aggression...Air:flexibility...Water:pressure (or others, that is my thought...the elements can be seen in many different ways)

For a straight forward thinker...I completely agree that Fire would be a great choice.

For a boxer or other type that uses combinations...Earth would be a quality option.

For those that play with lateral movement and thinking, ebb and flow...Air or Water are close in function to support either.

Air seems to be more pull then push with Water being more push then pull...but that is just my thinking, another might take it in a different direction.

This reminds me of the old elemental system that was at one point used by some of the so-called New Lovecraft Circle to make the Mythos more understandable by modern culture.... Cthugha - fire, Hastur - air, Cthulhu - water, Shub-Niggurath - earth.

This was extensively revised for obvious reasons (reproduction is always associated with earth, but only in a supernatural sense rather than extraterrestrial so Shub-Niggurath was ousted, and water traps Cthulhu so that was changed). The one I agree with is Cthugha - fire, Hastur - air, Dagon - water, Shudde M'ell - earth. I think Yig could also be considered the earth elemental, but Shudde M'ell makes more sense.

Shudde M'ell king of the chthonians is a great choice for earth type IMO.

It makes the most sense. He freakin' lives underground. Shub-Niggurath just goes around wherever he/she (typically considered female but debatable) feels like. Not much to do with earth or even THE earth, really.

Anyways, water.... still sticking with water. I like water.
