Jedi Knight of the Old Republic

Does anyone else carry their lightsaber on their person daily? I do, I hadn't been because my custom saber is on the workbench right now... Needs new electronics and such. I now have a new saber, and I've been carrying her around. I love it, it gives me such an opportunity to talk to people, and express myself.

I feel like so many people are afraid to live life out loud today for fear of offending people... Too afraid to express their beliefs too afraid to express their likes and dislikes.... I love bashing down that wall, and being a bold person who lives life as myself. I don't hide behind any walls or false personae. I am a Jedi, and I act accordingly!

Anyways, I thought it would be neat to have a thread where we can post pictures of us carrying our sabers in everyday life... You can be in costume or not. Just any pictures of you carrying a saber will do.

I'll have some coming up soon.

That's pretty incredible man, it's good that you're proud of who you are and unashamed to show off your passions.

Here's a pic of Artorius and I with our sabers on our belts from the day we went to see TPM in 3D:

Unfortunately I don't generally carry mine daily.  I work as an engineer on a military base, so I guess I just wanted to avoid catching any crap (from a security point of view) about carrying such a thing.  Still in my "trial period" so to speak, and I'd rather not give them any reason to boot me Wink

I hear you... I've worked jobs where carrying a saber would be frowned upon... I just carry it take it off during work hours and place it back on my belt when I get off work. lol!

I don't blame you though.... I wouldn't lose a job over a lightsaber either lol.

Perhaps I'll put it on when I get home!  I'd certainly like more opportunities to wear it...

It's definitely something I'm planning on doing at the next con I go to (which will actually be my first con).

This is me testing the leather D-Cell Maglite holster system I bought for my Dark War Glaive!

Don't carry them around all day. The dutch people wouldnt understand and I too work for the military. I took them to work once without problems... but carrying them around all day would be concidered extremely 'weird'!

well i would carry my saber but my everyday life consists of going to school getting home going out for like 3 hours and get home and do whatever i dont have any chances to carry it.

in new jersey my school would call a swat team move in and remove me from the premises at gun point... howell high is extremely careful with what happens there.  and knowing where i live some jerk cop would probably stop me for no reason say it was a weapon and then pull out any excuse they can to arrest me so no im not going to try it for  a long time.

if my job actually allowed it I might carry one around on occasion

sadly, it does not...not even on Halloween. the uniform code is strict Sad

I did take one with me to see Phantom Menace 3D though. and I'm often practicing out in my front lawn/driveway

Stephen how's that holster on the quickdraw? It looks sick.

Also it's not much more normal in America... I get away with it... because I'm... well I'm me. I have a certain demeanor about me that allows me to pull it off I guess.

Maybe I'm just brushed up enough on my Jedi mind tricks... I get stopped by cops all the time out here... they're mostly just curious. If you're polite and cordial they are usually pretty chill. If you have anything with claws that might be the only problem.

Actually reasonably fast when the leather is 'loosen' up a bit. I have a seperate topic on this 'holster' system where you can see what I used here.

You basically pull the hilt up at the emitter / claws in one move... then catch and grib teh hilt. You can draw it with only your right hand. It is a shame its not a 'real' saber. Buit if your left produces a blade you can have the whole thing together in 20 sec or less.

I am Sooo looking forward to the 4th of July. when the sun starts setting everyone and their mother breaks out little toy sabers until the Fireworks start. I feel a swarm of questions this year from the college kids, seeing as I live between 3 different ones. I would wear mine but can find the belt clips.   Sorry if I got off topic a little bit.

I do have 1 question though...where do I find the belt clip for the teck nobs ?

There are several vendors on Amazon that sell them, although Ultra has said that US will be selling them soon...

FYI, we will be offering movie-replica covertec clips very soon.   Wink

I don't have my saber yet, but I kinda imagine carrying it like Collin Mcleod from the anime Highlander: Vengence. Collin carried his katana at all times in a reverse grip manner, that way he was ALWAYS ready.

BTW, that anime is very good if you haven't seen it Smiley

I carry my Sig pretty much everywhere and I don't think my lightsaber is usurping that space anytime soon.

Now, in my state, its illegal to carry in some places: typically those places where you'd actually need it. Depending on my companions, I might consider the back holster and luightsaber I mentioned in one of my reviews (actually sold for back country umbrellas) but I don't know. Nice thing about a concealed weapon is that it's concealed. Looking like I do, a nerdy club strapped to my back might be asking for a fight. :-/

Just for the record.. aside of a Star Wars movie or a convention... why would anyone want to carry a modified flashlight with him all day Smiley

I just saw some modern day jedi being interviewed on YouTube and they are slightly losing their grip on reality.
