I like it... Star Wars has helped me in my spiritual walk so much throughout my life... Carrying my lights is a symbol of my dedication to God. I know that sounds crazy, but when you walk up to help someone and they ask you about your saber... It's an open door to be a witness... Not to turn this into a religious discussion, but that's just how it is for me.
I know it's crazy, I know it doesn't make any sense, but I carry my saber because of my Faith.

I have been carrying my saber around for about a week and a half, and while I do get the occasional sidelong glance from someone with opinions on what is acceptable behavior, most people either don't understand or think it's pretty cool. One girl came up to me and asked me what it was because she couldn't figure it out. I said, " it's a lightsaber" like it was no big deal and she responded with, "Oh that's cool, so you're a jedi?" "Yep" "awesome!" I'll post a pic of my look later. First I need to take a pic

I would totally carry one of mine if I could, but I spend most of my waking time on-court and that would be most uncomfortable Then parties and dinners and the sort.... I don't think the wee socialites would appreciate it one bit.... so I might have to try it

Point for using the sabers as witnessing tools, Lucien. I should start doing that myself. I'll have to dig up some recent pics for you guys, but I typically carry one saber or another every work day. I use them as headlights for my skateboard and to avoid being hit by anyone backing out of their driveways on a side street. Works well! I might have to slack back with it a little though, as the days are getting longer and I'm typically heading home while it's still light out now. Carrying it not lit, I'd be a little worried about some cop deciding to give me crap. Oh, and for the record, I have a standing request to bring any and all new sabers by to show to several of the staff at my local Chick-Fil-A restraunt. Those guys are awesome....

My favorite is when people ask me if it's a real lightsaber. Awesome stuff guys! and thanks for the points everyone they are appreciated!

A timely topic! I have an Archon V2 (no covertech knob) and will need to carry it with me to an event in just over a week -- any suggestions for how to secure it to a belt or sash while leaving it free enough to draw and wield? (Just in case the event gets infiltrated... you know how these things happen sometimes... ) Something that can be gotten or cobbled together soon? Thanks! peace, Kannik

Thanks! peace, Kannik I would go with a covertec or D ring style set up... but that's just my preference... If you're trying to figure something out quick... I would try rigging up an over the shoulder holster or something. Something where you can leave the blade on your saber too.

This is me testing the leather D-Cell Maglite holster system I bought for my Dark War Glaive! Don't carry them around all day. The dutch people wouldnt understand and I too work for the military. I took them to work once without problems... but carrying them around all day would be concidered extremely 'weird'! you mean like these? http://www.galls.com/style-LP143-general_catalog-safariland-leather-d-cell-flashlight-holder

Yes.. those are the leather belt part and metal ring and will hold the glaive perfectly. But as I was afraid of damaging the hilt with the metal ring I got myself a fully leather holder.

Kudos to you Lucien:) I takes courage to stand apart from the crowd...but it's a worthwhile endeavour. It's hard to find yourself when you hide in everyone elses shadow! I'm heavily tattooed, and although that doesn't seem that unusual these days, when I started getting mine, it was very rare for a woman be tattooed at all, much less sporting a full arm etc. Now it's just...meh...passe. I miss the days of the mystique of coloured man, or woman. If it gives you the strength and courage to deal with life, and to share those qualities with others...more power to you:)
I would love to wear mine to work...but my boss would freak out, and even a Sith knows when to fight, and when to lie low and not attract too much attention. However, I'm thinking of carrying one in my backpack...I'll know it's there:) Can't wait to take mine to gym on Monday night....the other patrons have seen me jogging on the treadmills in chainmail, so it won't be too out of place:P

I would carry my aeon v3EVERYWHERE if i onl had a covertec or d ring. Before i bought an ultrasaber, (i know it sounds childish) i had carried a $8 walmart hasbro -no lightup- obi wan saber on my belt. Even though i stopped wearing it, people still identify me by 'Master Jedi'
