Here is the front section getting ready for a bit more aging & a satin clear coat (misplaced my graflex pins, darnit!) , now it's on to wiring in a cple of small leds in the bottom chassis disc for chamber lighting, accent fiber optic lines(those are the white rods you see on either side of the crystal & waiting for my soundboard (Naigon came out with ver.2 & is up-grading mine)
Still have to mill down the brass handgrips & quite a bit more assembly/fabrication

Actually I'm doing well from a time stand-point, I bought the parts to start this in late february & have at least this much finished, as a comparison I have been watching the build threads on a couple of other forums for some very nice (& very expensive) sabers , & it looks like many of the saber lovers out there, end up waiting sometimes 1-1/2 to 2 years for a commissioned build! Shocked)
& That is the one of Ultrasbers best features...Instant gratification!....hit the pay-now button & a few days (actually my Prophecy got here in 3) & Voila! a saber in your hands!  This has turned into a much bigger project than I had thought, (I'm over the hump now, that switch & wiring was a bugger!) & I'll still have it completed in less than 3 months from start to finish. (& No , I'm building another one!!! Angry )

That's excellent!

I actually have a handful of projects lined up myself, I hope I can get them done in a timely fashion Tongue

i feel i multitask like cooper i have parts for 3 more sabers lol and kinda work on all of them on and off, as well as modding my PS3 paddle and finish building my 2 player arcade controller never enough time in the day lol... but back to topic this may well be the best starkiller saber i have seen, and with 9 colorfonts and 9 soundbanks this will also be the most accurate to boot, the only one i see come close was one that makotosai did with the color changing wheel but his hilt wasnt as accurate or detailed as yours, but he did have all the colors at least

It seems like the older I get the more time I'm willing to put into something (I dont like repairing mistakes) & it may sound strange, I'm getting to the point that I actually enjoy the whole process of fabricating(not just sabers) & actually feel almost sad when the project nears completion. As ninja Jedi mentioned I have 3-4 projects going & prints for a couple of more .Though as summer hits there is the off-road armored Sith mobile that needs wrench time & a bunch of home improvement projects thwrown in for good measure.I'm thinking I would like to try out all the different sound boards out there, especially with the new Obsidian, CF6.0 & PC2.0 along with the new Igniter. luckily I have a very understanding wife that enjoys seeing me craft & doesnt mind the frivolous expense of high end flashlights Grin

Here is the completed rear section, before aging, I just finished sizing the brass hand-grips from 1/4 x 1/4 brass billet & then fitted each piece into it's own groove in the copper rear section, ( the solder is a bit sloppy & I'll sand that a bit before aging the pieces with antique patina solution, from there a bit of steel wool , some birch-wood casey aluminum black (it sticks & works very well with acid dipped aluminum)

I've seen aluminum used for hand-grips & also brass pieces screwed in place , I chose the more difficult method  Smiley

LED testing, there is only one + for the led & 3 negatives, the tru color board fires whichever LEDs is needed for color mix & FOC

Thanks guys! I'm just getting into building and spacing the rail system. Originally I thought I could cram 2 18650's into the hilt (without a crystal chamber they would fit, so I compromised a bit & am using 2 14650 Li-ion's rated at 3.7 volts & 1600Ma . I'm also making a couple of discs out of some nylon stock I have on hand

Looks like it'll fit! & I'm staring to finally get low on parts set aside for this project  Grin
