Great thread I live in Columbus, OH. Looking for dueling partners (or some sort of Club for Lightsaber Combat) and choreography partners in Ohio or the near Midwest. I'm new to saber duels but fairly athletic and starting to pick this up pretty quickly thanks to YouTube. I've got the Plum Blossum concept down just working now on speeding it up and alternating right/left hands. |

i am on the map as well in little wellington Florida... not many nearby.. but possibly might plan for a trip to other grouping locations in the next year... maybe even try to get a US gathering together, like an annual thing.... more details to come in the near future.. its a brain storming idea.. just think.. an annual lightsaber dueling convention... thousands of saber dueling enthusiasts of all skill lvls.. meeting at one.." academy" to see who the best of each lvl of skill in their own forms, as well as free style dueling.. this is something im gonna get to gather with a friend in college who is studying for his arts and networking event management degree... i recently showed him my USD and he loved it.. wants one of his own.. ^.^.. i have planted the seed of need..... mwahahaha (probly gonna get some dark points for that one but oh well BWAHAHAHAH) anyways, i know he is into the management aspect of cons, and am pretty sure he would jump on this with me.. so here is to hoping that i can get some kinda annual event ... possibly even one that travels state to state... we shall see |

sadly i wont be able to come.. as much as i would like to meet the team at TPLA... mayhap some time in this year i might have the opportunity to make a fly by.... as i am currently a solo practitioner of saber skills... i do pay attention to the TPLA videos and practice on a daily basis.. i just find it hard to practice solo for long periods... and end up doing shadow duels... i might post a video of me shadow dueling blind folded.... my imagination is pretty crazy sometimes... lol

In Houma Louisiana. i dont have an ultra saber yet, but i do have a forcde fx i can use untill i can order an ultra. Just got into saber combat, and i need someone to grow with, and share a learning experiance with.

there might be a trip in my future to Canada......>.>......**slips lightsaber into hidden pocket on waistband** an hour of "practice" for anyone that comes.... then of course... mwahahaha LET THE PLASMA BLADES FLY!! i vote for a combat style that renders... "old school dueling" rules... a hit to the hands, arms, feet, legs, ... any touch is a hit... and considered a loss of limb.... this dowes not completely mean you lose the bout.... but must quickly adjust to changing to your other hand...or hopping on one leg if you loss the other.... my friends and i have for long been saber duelests... i have several other practice swords i have made myself.... a long blade/katana, and a knightsword/long sword... so, when we fight, there have been very heated battles that have ended in one of tus getting a hand cut off.. or a leg cut off, and making last minute doges and funny rolls/flopping around to get that last kill shot in... when you loss a hand, and a foot (by this i mean i hopped on one foot, AND only use my left hand, as if my right was lopped off)... and manage to hobble around and roll out of the way for another minute.. only to make one last dive for your saber, grab it roll over, and slash your friend across the guts as he swings over you.... all after a full 5 minutes of non stop dueling... EPIC |
