Ultrasabers Blade Plugs

Hey, I noticed a few questions about the blade plugs that are now available and I just wanted to throw my observations out there. I just ordered two for my sabers and when they showed up I immediately started playing with them.

A couple things I found were that they look awesome  and they don't fit every saber the same.
1. The awesomeness
So with the gaping hole down to the LED I noticed that people would look at my sabers and at first they were like, "Wow, this thing is cool... oh let's look down inside.. it goes down quite a bit, let's turn it on while I stare into the high powered LED!" Even when I warned them not to. Now, the look is much more like I would anticipate a saber looking, AND when people look at it they see something solid so they don't try to look down into the hole. It is still bright, as my pictures will demonstrate, and this seems to startle people a touch but without blinding them. so that's good.

2. Saber Fit
So in my Prophecy the blade plug fits snugly against the LED module and at the same time sits flush with the lowest part of the slanted emitter, a perfect fit! In my Liberator the LED module sits a bit lower in the hilt so when the plug sits down on the LED it sits quite a bit below the top of the emitter. I didn't like the way that looked so I moved it up to about 1/8" below the emitter rim because I didn't like it right at the top either.  This way it shines nicely through all the emitter holes.

I absolutely love these things and will be getting them for all my future sabers as I just think it adds to the display look and overall coolness. It will probably take a bit of fiddling to get it to look just right to your preferences but that isn't hard at all.

wow, lucky break for me. i got 2 plugs coming tues that are going on a prophecy and a libby. what are the odds those are the ones you posted? i was wondering how the plug would work with the slanted emitter, but i can see from your pics it looks great - thx.
(man, i think i'm getting really jealous of my sons prophecy now...)

The same as you would any blade, remove or loosen the retention screw, shake out the plug.

I planning on getting a blade plug with a clear cap because I'd like to be able to use it as a flashlight in some circumstances.
The opaque cap cuts down on the throw of light for my interests.

it does dim the light a bit, but I find that when using them as display or showing them to people this reduces the number of hurt eyes that occur from mishandling them. People are silly and even though it makes perfect sense not to shine a flashlight or similar device right in your eyes, people do it all the time. I don't see any real problems with a clear plug though, as long as it is used by people that understand what not to do lol. I have seen some plugs that are quite intricate, made from several pieces and ending at the top with a foil from an electric razor. The type from the three circular bladed razors. Looks super cool, I want to make one like that someday.

I would love to be able to make something like this.. just gotta figure out how!

When I'm using it for a flashlight it's not something I'll be showing around or letting people handle.
