Thanks for that. So it looks like you are doing basically what I am doing here but overhead. I'll have to give that a try.

yeah! i should have just referenced your own video back at you. lol. I think the most rotations i can do is 5. when it just feels like your nudging the hilt around in the air. should be easy for you to pick up Cephalus. May the force Serve your needs.

I tried it this morning. Same basic move though the momentum is different. What I was impressed by was the speed with which you were able to do that finger roll overhead. That is one place you definitely have a big leg up. I have seen the same in a lot of the reverse grip work you are doing. Point for that. If only there were a way to chain that finger roll so that when it hits the pinky, it can be picked up by the index finger and go indefinitely. Maybe that is a discussion best had in the other thread though.

Here are a couple things I am working on. Dual wield 1/2 palm spins and perpetual finger rolls. Still very much works in progress.

i'll have to give that dual hand spins a go. now that you're smoother. i can see where the palm positions change more easily. You're so much more on the ball when it comes to intricate fingle rolling, palm spins and hand/arm rolls. Your above the head finger rolls spin aswell. Thought if anyone would pull it off it would be you. Can you keep it going, over and over? I think i'd still prefure my sort of finger push around  move as you can get soon good speed before it drops.

Anyway.
because i left the video on private for days, i thought i'd post it  in here too. Might be more showboating, juggling and flair than traditional martial art practices. but still demonstrates my progess learning these technical moves. And i would say the form would be close to soresu.

So enjoy my soresu based juggling. Enjoy  Wink

Yes and no. Technically, the overhead finger roll can go on indefinitely. Practically, there is a chance on each attempt that your fingers will get hung up and you will have to resort to catching it in reverse grip as yo can see me do in the video. When that happens it is over.

A dual wield easter practice session set to music. Features work with flips, different flourishes and flowers, reverse grip switches, aerials, hand switches, and horribly colored blades. Enjoy

If I can add a few tips/ideas?
1: Practice in costume, get used to sparring in what you wear
2: if you have a friend who knows how to use a sword PROPERLY (can't stress that enough) get with them for basic ideas
3: Spear saber would be cool to see.   Smiley

Thanks guys, when I get back to the states, and practice a little, I'll try and post something

This practice session features me playing around with the idea of a circular flowers set patterned off the clock face spin. Also featured are split and recombined flowers finished off with the reverse dual Obi/Ani.

Might as well post this over here too. I'm taking a break a bit from being serious. If only there were a way for a budget ninja to master dual wield flower spins and transitions at work and in his back yard. Help me DEVO, you're my only hope!

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbEkb42B5ro" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbEkb42B5ro</a>

This one highlights some of my investigation into dual wield flowers, circular flowers, split flowers, flower hand switches and related areas. Mostly it is just playing around to DEVO. Enjoy.

Where is everyone else lately? This is too good an idea to let it go inactive. For my part here's some Jar'Kai work. This started as a practice session where I was working on the dual hand switch, but after I landed it a few times, I slipped into freestyle and ended up doing most of the moves that will be covered in an upcoming series. I left it as one take and set to Iron Maiden's 2 Minutes to Midnight. Enjoy.

Ok Heres a couple of vids i've recently done. In the first i'm experimenting with the reverse grip, reverse plum. and forward grip with my off hand sort of following and tweaking out different spins to see whats doable.
The 2nd some nice night time spinning. enjoy

you need to upload them to a site like youtube or photobucket (I recommend the former because it will imbed in the forum). If you do not have a youtube account, go to their site and sign up. I am pretty sure a Google+ account will transfer if you have one of those. Once you have an account, youtube has an upload button in the upper left. Upload the files from your computer and paste the address of the youtube watch page into the forum. You have to remove the https from the front to get it to imbed properly.
