The costume looks great and moves well. Mind if I ask if the cape is special order or homemade? At any rate, you are getting speedier with the obi/ani and you have the basic hand switch down pretty well. I see a lot of improvement over your earlier orbiting videos. Keep up the good work.

thanks on all counts. I'm not much of a saber spinner, but I can do some basic things fairly well. I can actually do more "tricks" than shown here, but most would just get caught up in the cape (it's amazing the extra consideration a 9ft circle cape requires!)

It is a custom cape made by a friend in the UK who happens to also be a costumerer. I would highly recommend his work to ANYONE looking to get pieces done. Mine was based on Count Dooku's but with specific alterations so that it wasn't an exact replica (colour, fabric, lining, piping etc) and he did it from scratch, without a pattern, and with only a handful of reference pics! Amazing.

Anyway, I'm  glad you liked the video, it is definitely my favour spinning effort!

OK, you guys got me thinking. Now I cannot do "juggling" moves to save my life, but you did get me thinking about putting another rotation in an old favourite.

Please note, I had ZERO space here, so this is a slow "proof of concept" video.

Cephalus i've got down the reverse obi ani's and some variations. but reverse obi flips with two is too much for me. i can do each hand but trying to chain them together like that seems tricky.  point to you sir. I can pull off the juggling obi ani forwards. but todays practice was crap. i didn't land any of the simultaneous obi flips. The first vid of mine i'd call a fluke cos i haven't done it since. :-(
been working on other flips / juggling and finger and palm rolling while spinning.
I should really refine some more under the leg moves but my saber is a rather long aeon with a beast of a blade.

I have also had trouble with the simultaneous. I can land it but it breaks whatever chain I am in. As for the reverse flips, look for a tutorial some time soon over in non martial arts. The trick is timing the flips.

Also completed my tutorial on dual wield applications of flips and spins featuring a timing tutorial on the forward and reverse obi/ani flips (what some of you have been calling saber juggling). I did not cover the simultaneous. Maybe later when I am more comfortable with it. Enjoy.

Cephalus good post on those tutorials and excellent work on doing the under the leg pass. Your powers grow strongeeeeer. I think its funny when you chain each leg after each other it reminds me of a strange clapping dance of some nonsense.

Oh on your horizontal palm spin. i can do it above my head using a finger roll technique that when i've got enough momentum and my finger is in the right place. :-s . you can sort of push it around in the air and catch it, (easier in reverse grip) before it falls on you and you cut your own head off.
as demonstrated below. bit dark tho, so you can't seen the finger work

That is exactly what it reminded me of when I was doing it. That over head spin is interesting. I would love to see that with some more light so that I can see what you are doing there.

heres a quick tutorial for the finger roll type move. until your fingers (middle and index) can push the hilt around in the air. think i forgot to elaborate this point in the video. but anyways. With enough speed you can get quite a few spins but the difficulty and chances of it landing on your head increase.
