No No.. I purchased a grab bag, and also purchased the dark initiate V3 to pair with my Dominix V3, for the intention of putting the initiate blade on my Dominix and a 16 inch blade on the initiate, for a short sword and dagger combo, then add a few more modifications to it. That's why I referred to it as an Easter egg! It was a complete surprise when I got the Proto type in place of the initiate! ....ahh still so happy with it The standard issue was my grab bag.  Just due to the pure excitement, I couldn't help myself ..and ordered another grab bag! ~INCOMING!~ .. |

I really, really like that new Initiate(?).
I only wish US were a little more open on what is coming down the pipeline...
I kind of want to hold out for ordering one of these but no clue when they'll be released.
Is this a "Christmas wish list" kind of item or a "just wait ... It's a surprise!" kind of nonsense?

I ordered this Grab Bag along with a Dark Initiate V3......... .........what I got was a Dark Initiate Easter Egg! ....   ^^^^^^WHY IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO PUT UP PICS^^^^^^ .......BREATH TAKEN AWAY can NOT get it out of my hands.. ..the choke point is one of the most comfortable features I have ever come across, And for someone with as large a hand as I, the single hand grip between the switch and pommel is OUTSTANDING ..have never seen this hilt before, not disappointed in the least. You ordered a Dark Initiate and got this instead? This could be a pretty big indication that this and the full size version is indeed a Aeon/Dominix successor. Lucky! The initiate version looks so good! |

@Lish. You're making me one of those new sabers even more now. Lol. They look very nice. I'll always be a fan of the Dominix no matter what version. I'm going LE in Guardian Blue though when the saber is officially released which shouldn't be long hopefully.

Looks like I got a dark prophecy in CG. It has set screws instead of the brass thumb screws and no covertech. My blade is a mid ultraedge I think. I feel its to long at 36" but I think I'll end up ordering a 32" heavy grade. I was very happy to get a prophecy. I might have to customize it. I'll try to get pics up soon.... If I can put this saber down.

Nice score for a grab bag, I love my Prophecy. I also prefer shorter blades and consider the 36 inch to be too long for me. As for the brass thumbscrews, I think they look fantastic, but they are, in fact, a 2-piece screw with a threaded screw which looks just like the regular thumbscrew which must be installed with the regular allen wrench, and then a separate brass piece which attaches by hand. Problem is, during dueling, either the brass part comes loose, falling off and rolling away into the night, or you end up smashing your dueling partner's hand or hilt with them brass thumbscrews, which isn't good.
I've had one come loose and roll down the driveway several times and have amazingly been able to find it each time. Also, my wife's Aeon has a couple of scratches on it from clashing hilts with me and contacting the brass thumbscrews. Others have mentioned also that they remove the brass screws in favor of regular set screws when dueling, so you may have the better setup anyway, if you plan to duel against a partner.
Enjoy your new Prophecy, it's an awesome hilt. Feels great in your hands, balances well; it's a great hilt to wield.
