Got a silly notion in my head and did this:  All of about 8 3/4" from pommel to the end of the emitter. Crazy small, even significantly shorter than a V4 Initiate, and about the same length as a V2 Initiate. And this one is almost an inch longer than it would be if it didn't have Emerald and/or a recharge port. That said, I don't actually recommend this, as the blade depth is really, really short. Like, the LED is right where the threaded portion inside the hilt ends. But it could still make a VERY short, very handy one-handed saber with the right emitter on it. |

I agree that it looks great, and its balance isn't bad at all, IMO. But, that's a blade seated to a total depth of 1 inch. That's very, very shallow. Probably sufficient for a 24" blade, I don't know if I'd do combat with a longer blade than that. Which is a shame, since the compact look of it is enhanced a good amount by that very low-profile emitter. But I have some ideas for further playing with this idea. More pics:   |

possible names (my thoughts)/ include "dark" if black anodized: the elder (obvious reasons) the mentor (since we already have an "apprentice") |

That looks like such a nice little saber . Is it US parts? As it sits, it's all US parts. All it consists of is an Emerald Dark Menace with a Flamberge emitter ring in place of the Dark Menace emitter. |

Very cool  This kinda gives me a sweet idea for a Sith assassin type saber too Too bad the Flamberge emitters themselves aren't sold separately though. Would gives lots of cool ideas to try. Definitely entering the 2nd spring raffle for sure this time |
