Glad you guys got some saber time he works too hard and needed to relax.

As always the videos look great. It's interesting to look at yours because it doesn't look like your usual makashi work.

It was definitely a bit different, I did much more spinning this time.  I think it might be the fact that I haven't had a sparring partner in a while, so a lot of what I do is Soresu-esque spinning when it comes to freeform.  I did throw a few Makashi style techniques in there, you can catch a few small parries and a lunge at the end.

It was a LOT of fun to see him, and especially to do some lightsaber work with him.  He's absurdly busy, as Veld said, but he would really like to contribute a bit more... I told him we'd love to see him on a Symposium in the future.  We'll see how things go!

Thanks!  You're very right about the lighting, for some reason I never manage to get any in my vids... although in this case it's because we're back in South Jersey, so at 2am it's VERY dark outside.  I would have turned on the lights, but I wanted to let my parents sleep (we have floodlights on the back side of the house).

I'm hoping I get to do some more saberwork with him soon, although with his schedule it's unlikely.  As soon as I can, though, I'll get him over to hang with me

Also, I did a little work myself.  This is one of the first times I've done any saber work outside, so I'm still grappling with the "what do my neighbors think" crap.  I haven't fully embraced my inner nerd yet. lol

I'm going to work on my phone stand so it's more vertical and you can see my feet better.

Thanks, good to know we haven't slipped too much!  Years of training and excellent instruction are what created that level of control, although I have to admit my own technique was a bit wild since I was moving outside my comfort zone in terms of style.

Speaking of which, I have a Shien-influenced freeform I made the other night, I will have to post that when I get a minute.

Second version I played with the brightness.  I don't think it helped much, but it did give the coloration a cool effect.

Finally stopped raining here long enough to get outside and practice a little.  Sorry for the first part though. I didn't realize my phone has such a crappy viewing angle.  At least I did get to try out the new Dominix v3!!

I found taking multiple videos is nice, because over time as you date them, it gives you something to look back at and see your personal progression.
