I could swear that I saw a post on another forum about a few upcoming colors (I think it was something about a darker blue, and a darker (more Crimson) red.  Also with the RGB technology now in full swing, I know that Yellow is now a possible color for Ultra (they could customize the LED before install as they do with any saber ordered with "VA" or "SRD").  I was just wondering if they're are any new colors we should be expecting to see on the horizon in the near future from Ultra?

Theres alot of things in the Works from Ultra this year, we are all excited to see what comes out from them.

I would like to see what could happen with a black saber. I don't really know if it's possible though.

We will be offering more colors, we have a few in mind, like a lighter blue, a more reddish orange, and a yellow, but perfecting the RGB blend of these sabers takes alot of trial and error.  Once we have it down to a science, we'll offer the colors officially on our site.

I'll be patiently waiting!  One of the things I would dearly love to get hold of is a Dooku in Yellow!

These new colors intrigue me. I don't like yellow but I want a couple Catalysts in yellow and a coupler to make a staff. I think it would give it a sorta Bastilla Shan look.

I'm getting a Catalyst, I wonder how that would look. The lower end of the hilt tapers, So I wonder how two can be coupled. Still, that would be one wild looking saber.

The part that tapers is the pommel, which you remove to screw on the coupler.

If you end up getting that please post pics, that'd look wild.

a deep navy blue would be a cool saber, but I don't know if that's realistic, you can't have dark light unfortunately... (thinking about black saber)

there's a lot of progress on black sabers. You should look on the fx-sabers forum. I believe i saw a number of posts regarding darksabers.

I would love to see an amber-yellow, and a reddish orange. I'm working on a cosplay idea for the 75th anniversary celebrations for the Golden Gate Bridge, and a red-orange saber would be sweet- same colour as the bridge!

Is it possible to get a teal colored LED for a blade? I mean as teal as the words I write.
When I get around to building my first custom (which could be a long while) that is the color that I want, or rather there really is not any other color that I want.

I may be thinking unrealistically, but it might be possible to tweak blue and green LED's to get it. Hmm.....

Teal would just be a greener SRD.  So yeah, it can be done.

I have seen some black blades. They aren't that bad. Only problem is I dont think they will be very bright. The blood red sounds good. Any chance for a pink saber? I know my wife would love it and a couple of female friends of mine would also love one.

I've done pink with a filter on a white led. I caught my opponent off guard with it and tapped his wrist while he was double taking at it...

It's kinda hard to tell from the pics but the current Srd is basically a teal colour.

Mine does not look like that, it is more of a light blue. So, unless they have changed since last I purchased an SRD...

I got 2 sabers in SRD since the summer and they're both a seafoam green color. Looks really cool with a copper hilt!

I'd love to see a real light sort of 'Ice Blue' color. That's what I've always wanted for the saber design that resides in the recesses of my twisted mind... XD

Well, this isn't a project I'm getting done anytime soon. lol BUT, whenever it gets done, there will be pics. That saber design is going to be the centerpiece of my collection. It's the design I did for my OC, who I've been RPing as for around 6 or 7 years now... lol I actually had a friend do up a design to have it machined from on his computer a while back, but he had trouble finding a machinist around here who could do sabers for some reason. I believe he said the trouble was the activation box. Either way, we sort of stalled out at that point, and there the project has sat since Senior Year... But someday, my Ice Blue blade will ignite. Someday. :)

At some point last year they stopped using the cyan Lux III LEDs since they are now unavailable.  Now SRD is the RGB LED fixed to a colour that is a green/blue mix.  From what I've read in an earlier post by deep, they resistor the blue pretty heavy to bring out a lot more of the green.  This leads to the Sea-foam green SRD.

Blood red does sound pretty bad ass.

i gotta go with a true YELLOW. that'd be the one for me, i'm talkin KOTR comic Zayne Carrick yellow.  simply a sweet color.

Have you seen the new Arctic Blue?  Looks pretty cool, no pun intended.

Arctic Blue comes out the day after my sabers arrive... now I have to buy ANOTHER one! XD Difficult to see, the future is, but be receiving much of my paycheck, ultrasabers may... ;D SICK looking color, Ultra!

I would love to see a comparison shot- guardian blue and arctic blue together.

It's the difference of Obi-Won's (Artic) and Anakin's (Guardian). I can't give a specific visual example but they are definitely different hues. 

Now, onto the black saber... if only...

I have an arctic blue saber on it's way. Should be here in the next couple days or so. I'll do a review and I'll make sure to do a 3 way comparison between it, SRD and guardian blue.  It's a dark liberator and I have a sneaking suspicion that ultra might have used it for the video before sending it out.

Damn, I need to put together money for a damn dual wield set in this arctic blue color now...

Is Arctic Blue actually "CYAN"?  The same color i get by mixing Green+Blue on my RGB Prophecy?

That depends on if you're talking about true cyan, or what the folks at Obsidian and Bioware call "cyan" in KotOR 1 & 2. "True" cyan is a blue-green color, similar to SRD and mixing G+B on an RGB results in either cyan, SRD, or teal. (Teal is a really dark shade of cyan)

Arctic Blue, on the other hand is what the video-game folks refer to as cyan (the Mantle of the Force lightsaber crystal) , although they do so incorrectly. The color they call "cyan" is actually a pale ice-blue, like watered down Aqua Velva aftershave. It's not a true cyan. Then again, Obsidian calls a pale silver-green "viridian", and actual viridian (while being a shade of green) is much darker than the lightsaber color in the video-game.

I'm asking if it's the same color as green+blue on my RGB prophecy .  100%green+100%blue = cyan

SRD = "resistorized blue" + 100%green and is different from my RGB prophecy

I wanted to know if the new arctic blue = 100%blue + 100%green on an RGB saber or if it's 100%blue + resistorized-green (the opposite of SRD)

Just wanted to say BRAVO!!!  ;D on the Artic Blue color-it is Glorious!!!  No pressure, but I was just wondering if you could give us a clue on when we will see the new Yellow color?  I am very eagerly anticipating this new color  ;D

Ah. Then the answer would probably be "no".

I have no idea how Ultra and the gang do this, but either way if there was a green die involved in the LED, there'd be some visible showing. Maybe they're using a RGBW LED and mixing the blue and the white (LEDEngin makes 5W RGBW's if I recall correctly), but it doesn't look like there's any green in the mix to me, and the human eye picks up green easier than blue.
Mind you, this is only a guess, and it's how I'd do it if I had the skills.
However, I'm neither Ultra nor Deep, so I fully admit that right now I'm just blowing smoke out my port stabilizer.

Yes, arctic blue is a true blue + green mixture, no resistance to either color, but as you can see from the pictures, blue is the dominant color in this mixture.

...aaaaannnndd, it's official, I AM WRONG! (Got to get the wife to write that down on the calendar.)  Could've sworn... oh, well, just goes to show that I'm not an optical engineer.
Now to get that port stabilizer looked at.

I'm kinda waiting for another shade of green, like maybe a Yellow-Green. Green is my favorite color for a saber, and i think that i'd just like another shade of it for a double saber.

I wish there was a program where you could select an LED type and adjust resistance so you could customize colors...

Hmm, I know there is RGB now, but what about RG, or RB, or GB? Think that would be able to work?

You just wire up the two colors you want on the RGB to get what you are after, if I am not mistaken.

I personally am waiting for a silvery green viridian colored saber...like gaurdian blue is to arctic blue as consular green is to (insert name of viridian color here)...you know what i mean? like on KOTOR II  ;D

My color wish list would have to be: Yellow, and more yellowish Green, and a more hardcore Red. All the reds I've seen still look red-orange even if they're not.

I think I'm going to have to order a staff in Arctic Blue then.  It is really my absolute favorite color on my RGB saber (blue+green).  I bet it would look super awesome to have two dark liberators coupled with Arctic Blue on each end...

Only way to find out is to order it I guess LoL.

Me too! I want a limited edition shock, but I don't want the true orange that my wraiths came in, I want a true yellow!

You could get a Shock LE in Adegan silver and use it with a yellow disc? Yellow colour filter discs work better than any other imo. But yeah for us would be Sentinels a true RGB mixed yellow...'tis a consummation devoutly to be wished eh?

Ugh, I have an adagen silver saber, and I was actually disappointed with the brightness of the thing. So much so that I'm thinking of paying to have ultrasabers swap out the LED for something else. I hope they do add an RGB sentinal yellow to the lineup one of these days, as well as the true, deep RGB orange of my wraiths.

Could I perhaps trouble you for a picture of this deep orange Wraith RGB? I'd love to see what that looks like :)

I agree this would be so excellent.  That way people could tweak it to whatever they like, for instance if they want a more yellow "fire orange" saber, or a more green shade of SRD.

a more purpely purple would be nice. instead of  a violet.

Most folks wanting a more purple blade simply slip in a slightly blue-er purple disk with their Violet Amethyst. From what I hear in testimonials here on the boards that option works quite well, with little dimming of the blade as long as you're only using one disc.

I'm not sure how many more colors we can get, guys. Think about it.

You have your Primary colors Red, Yellow, and Blue(for component colors, otherwise RGB for light mixing), and secondary colors.

Blazing Red
Guardian Blue
Consular Green

Then your secondaries

Red + Blue = Violet Amethyst
Red + Green = Sentinal Yellow
Red + Green(again) = Fire Orange

And that's all the primary and secondary colors. Anything else is a different shade which is just a different resistor. SRD is technically another shade of green, Arctic Blue is just another shade of blue. We could go on for HOURS like this with the missions of shades and hues, but it all comes back to the same colors we already have. And the only one of those not yet -standard- is Sentinal Yellow, which we've all seen CAN be done if you ask for it.

I just sent in my dual prophecies to get the red-orange treatment, they should be back on Monday.  I'm also putting a war glaive claw on each of them, so I'll have new pics in Saber Customizations come Tues or Wed and I'll try to get an accurate color picture for the blades.  (Or at least one with the lights off so you can see the ambient light color in the room)

@shadowkatt:  Technically, SRD and Arctic are both Blue + Green with different resistors.  And Fire Orange isn't red + green on an RGB, it's a single amber LED.

Regards the true purple VA, you can just put a note in your order comments for ultra to put a little more resistance on the red. That's what I did for my Shock LE, makes an awesome colour. Regards the yellow, I'm sure I've seen someone do a review of a yellow shock LE. Ultrasabers are very helpful  :)

Hey Wraith, sorry i didn't see your post before, but it looks like everyone answered you pretty well.  Also, you won't be disappointed in the yellow if it is anything like the yellow that is made with the RGB sabers!  It's just a little golden, but it is a very vibrant yellow.  It's pretty cool that for only 5 bucks anyone can order a pretty custom color.

Oh no worries Brother, I am trying to bring together the funds as I speak to get the Dark Liberator with the Golden Yellow, unfortunately it seems that every time I turn around, there is some unexpected expense hitting me where it hurts  :'(.

But rest assured, as soon as I get this beautiful saber I crave, I will be posting some Nice Pics  ;)

The Shock LE in Sentinal Yellow was mine:) And I'm still in love with it, it's one of my favorite sabers. The yellow is very bright, and easily holds up next to my regular shock in guardian blue. I definately wish they would make Sentinal Yellow and Pyrestone orange available as standard colors, they're both gorgeous. I've got a set of wraiths in Pyrestone, and the color is amazing. It's such a vivid shade of orange that the blades look like they're giving off heat!

I agree, I couldn't be more happy with my Pyrestone sabers.  I almost kind of like that the Sentinel Yellow, Pyrestone, and bluer VA are custom colors though.  It helps to stand out when most of the masses don't even know its available. 

   Hmmm.  A black anodized handle and ebony saber for an invisible dark sith ninja?  I can see a new villain manifesting-- A stealth sith with an insidious plan....

you can get a lime green color just by putting in a orange color disk , or if you have any lee filters ,cut and orange filter to fit and put it down the emitter. i did this to my c.g. prophecy and it looks pretty cool.

Pretty sure grey could be achieved, there was discussion of that way back in the old thread about black blades. lol Also heard some talk about brown once. Can't imagine it would be a bright saber, but I'd love to see it myself. Also perhaps different shades of yellow? Say one more Honey Gold, and one more sandy? Like a cross between yellow and brown. That would be cool.

I'm pretty sure that brown/tan would wind up as "another shade of yellow" in a saber.  Although, if you balanced it PERFECTLY right, you could get the yellow pale enough that it appears a sandy tan color.

I notice sometimes when my batteries get to low on my SY that is starts to become more orangey; a more "Muddy" color.

Not that, that is a bad thing. It just seemed pertinent to the conversation.

I think it looked cool, although it didn't stay that way to long, I think a coper colored hilt and a "Muddy" Gold would look awesome.

I was screwing around with the filters for my liberator and came up with a sandy-salmon color. I'll try to make it again and post pics.

i did make a greyish color once with lee filters in my v.a. liberator. it looked pretty cool but of course it wasnt bright at all, kind of looked like graphite from a pencil.

So I toyed with the filters a bit and recreated the color but with 5 filters there's no point in trying to take pics.
