I'm a big LP fan... and I gotta say, I think this is my favorite song yet:
in Mando'a there is a word, aay'han which means: bittersweet perfect moment of mourning and joy - *remembering and celebrating* I'm a veteran, and without going into the sob details, I have survivor's guilt pretty bad. I have a cat now because of it! they figured he'd help me enjoy the present. aay'han, definitely. I can just picture my Feeorin Mandalorian character, Granyn Uresadenn, a Cuy'val Dar that trained the BARCs and ARFs singing that song in Mando'a " As akaan’ade, trattok’ad, solus de solus de solus…"

I don't care for Linkin Park as much as I used to, but I love their last album, Living Things. It's definitely their best one yet, IMO, and one of my top favorite albums in general.

I've gotten really hooked on the original version of "Mad World" by Tears for Fears.

I don't have a problem with their new music, I just don't think it's that great either. I think they got away from what made them great in the first place, their ability to mix genres perfectly. And their songs do pretty much all sound exactly the same, there's not enough deviation from "the Formula" which is my biggest problem.

exactly! glad im not the only one who thinks this way. next time you hear new divide or what ive done, try doing a mash up by singing the lyrics for the other song instead... we often do it, it works relatively well in some places sadly. point for having the same opinion

Personally, I'm glad that they're constantly evolving, and not giving a hoot what the fans think. Bands like that have my total and utter respect, because even if the new album turns out to be a pile of crap, at least the band can hold their heads high and say, "Well, at least we decided to step out of our comfort zone and not make the same exact album over and over again." And both Hybrid Theory and Meteora did sound quite similar. I've been with LP since the beginning, and their songs have helped me get through some very rough times. This is still the same band that I grew up with, but they have matured, and don't want to be stuck in that same place that they were in with the first two albums. If you've noticed, they've been going in several different directions with their last three albums. So it's really not all the same.

Completely agree and point! I personally think they've evolved quite a bit too. I think it's interesting that with LP anyway, there are so many people that stand on the two different sides of the fence, and yet no-one it seems is on the fence though. Which to me, makes a good band. I have three other bands I love, and they haven't changed too much over the course of their albums. The ballads sound quite the same, their driven songs sound about the same, their pissed off at the world sound about the same. But at the same time, looking at them in more depth, you can see how they've grown too, it's just subtle. And that's fine to me, because their tones, lyrics, and chord progressions and bridges sound great as they are. The three bands are "Black Stone Cherry," "Theory of a Deadman," and "The Black Keys." To me, all of their songs sound quite a bit similar to each other (to their own band's other songs, not to each different band). But that's their tone and theme. And that's what makes them good to me. ToaD wouldn't be who they are without that Jaguar guitar with hot rod pickups on the leads and their crass Southern lyrics, country twang, and in-your-face attitude. BSC wouldn't be who they are without going into their local myths and having a very almost Southern Voodoo Blues sound as I like to call it. And TBK are who they are because of their tones and very psychadelic sounds. To me, LP fits that same group. They're all alternative rock, with a bit of hints or even full cross-overs of other things that have influenced them. I love them all. LP though, still my all-time favorite. But I'm biased and others are entitled to their opinions. I'm sure there's plenty of other bands we can all agree to disagree on too. Theory of a Deadman's "All or Nothing" - love the car lol
here's Black Stone Cherry's "Blind Man" it's a good one
and The Black Keys highly entertaining "She's Howling for You"

^Definitely. And thanks! Another thing that I want to add is the fact that everyone in LP has grown up. If you've noticed, their lyrics have shifted away from the teen angst and relationships gone wrong lyrics, and have instead become more pointed towards politics and abstract lyrics. Though of course they do still have songs about the former, so in actuality, everyone wins. I actually like to call LP "art rock." I say this because their music has almost always been about painting a bigger picture in one's mind, and every piece of almost every song is completely thematic and conceptual, rather than completely straight forward. But obviously there are some exceptions, like the song "One Step Closer." I would have to put Muse and Placebo in this genre too. For those who don't know who they are... Placebo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HClZwFNNMKsMuse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYWklAV_cwQI love those bands
