The thing that gets me about this whole mess is that I very literally only want 20 hours (or less) a week in a low responsibility job that won't try to make me go full time. I don't want benefits. I don't want certain hours. I don't even require high pay. I don't want to "move up" or "have a career" at any of these places. I just want a crappy little job to earn some extra cash because while training/editing does pay the bills, it's unstable work at times and I would like to have a windfall in case clients evaporate, as they have in the past.
The last job I interviewed for, the woman sat back in her chair, folded her fingers and said in an oddly suspicious voice, "You're very articulate." And just stared at me.
What the kriff was that all about? Did she think I was with the FBI of Grammatical Interventions or something?
Honestly, It's probably because they see your potential and that your smarter and more capable than having a scrub job! Good luck finding something! |

Right now my main focus is getting myself back in school. I'm only looking to make a little extra money this summer, until school starts. But I'm not looking for a first job, so screw that!
I was kinda thinking about driving with Uber....

They're right. I'm smart enough to know that I have no desire to stress myself over a job ever again.  I feel very much like Lester in "American Beauty" when he says that he wants a job with the least possible amount of responsibility. I've had plenty of jobs like that, so I'm sure I'll land the right one eventually! |

I said impedes, not stops. It was in my heel, so I added balance practice to everything else I was doing and stayed up on my toes. Ouch! Did you get it looked at?? If by looked at you mean pull it out, yes. It feels like there's still some in there, but that may just be because it's a puncture wound. Yikes! Was it a piece you could fish out yourself or one of those irritatingly small bits that you can feel, but not see? Either way, that sucks!
It was big enough to pull out the main piece. Slightly larger problem was that I was sliding my foot when I hit it, which pushed it both in and sideways, and may have broken a bit off deeper in. I'll see if it still hurts to put pressure on it in the morning. |
