It annoys me that you see those people who buy a big pickup, yet get offended or downright angry if you suggest hauling stuff in the back end.
Them: "I don't want to haul anything because it will scratch the paint!" Me: "Dude, that's the PURPOSE of a pickup, you backbirth!"
Exactly. A truck of any kind is designed to haul cargo. That's why they're rear wheel drive, so that the power is under the LOAD. Get a bed liner, candyass. Or, how about don't get a cargo vehicle to fill the job of a people-carrier? Back to the name thing for just a moment. I can't believe I forgot these. My first year of teaching I had a student named Reggie. He had a brother named Reggie. And a sister named Regina. I told this story often at my current school, but a lot of people thought I was making it up. Until we got Shameek, his younger brother Shameek, and their sister Shamyla. This gif is invalid. The line goes, "Hi, I'm Larry. This is my brother, Darryl. And this is my other brother, Darryl."

I know, but it was the one I could find with any kind of text. George Foreman named his five sons after himself: George Jr, George III, George IV, George V, and George VI. Additionally, one of his daughters is named Georgetta.
Also true. But when you're a two-time heavyweight champ of the world, you can do that, because you're not going to get many arguments.

You think they call each by number?
Like "Hey 5!" "Who's this?" "Me. 2." "You too?" " Yeah, me. 2." "You also?" "It's me, your brother. Your other brother's here too." "Oh 2's there! Tell him hi." "I'm 2!" "Hi to you too" "Ugh! Finally! 4.. 5 says hi." "Hi 5!" "High five to you too, 2"
I spent too much time on this😑

When I moved to Southern Florida, I saw many large trucks that were so pristine you could tell they had never had anything loaded into them. Being a redneck from the south a truck that size would have dings, scratches etc because of the loads they hauled and permanent mud stains from the weekend mud riding. I was at a loss why these city folk would want such a gas guzzling creature...until I went out on a weekend for the first time. They have them to haul boats.

I've said it before many times: a truck is a tool. Use it! Whether it's for hauling dirt, tools, dogs for hunting, boats, trailers, whatever; use the thing! I'm fine with both types of trucks you're describing, because they are being used as a tool to get a job done. But don't get a monstrosity just to have one, and then park it in a parking lot with a wheel in 4 different parking spaces. Unless you're parked somewhere near Neptune.

Out here in California, the often used, I'll sounding term for trucks is "toy haulers". I've had 5 trucks in 14 years working with my company. All I need is good gas mileage. I have a tonneau cover on it for all my tools, and all of them have been brown, even the red one and white one were brown. I tell people I have brown pride. Not brown pride, like Mexican power, but brown pride as in dirty truck. With the drought here, I'm doing my part. After all, it's a work truck!!
