Sorry about earlier. It's just all the anger at work building to a head.

I have a designer who is lording her years of experience over me to try to get me to do things her way, a way that is 1) outmoded, 2) against common drafting practices, 3) overly time consuming, and 4) completely against standards. When I told her no for those specific reasons, she threw a fit and threatened in an email to talk to the Director of Engineering. I told her to go right ahead.

I ahould note that I was brought on board partly to establish drafting standards, and it is a job I take VERY seriously.

Now, she got her meeting with the DoE, and I'm assuming that since I have not been called into his office or talked to at all by my manager, he pretty much told her to go pound sand. That and apparently she was seeking out HR all full of piss and vinegar in order to quit and, I assume, file a formal complaint (which would have gone exactly nowhere in any case).

I mean, seriously, what kind of kriffing child goes and acts like that?!

This is the same woman who, against all odds and common sense, asked for and got a raise because she couldn't afford her mortgage payment despite having new vehicles on a regular basis! Seriously, she's had four new vehicles in the year and a half I've been there. Getting a raise because you can't control your own spending is an amazing feat.

I went back to work last week after being off for 5 months on disability/stress leave.

Felt good.

Then I sat in traffic today.
I missed it, but I also was reminded quickly how much I'd like to have a real life MarioKart scenario and just Bullet Bill through all that traffic and, throw some red shells around to some slow arse dumbflucks...
