If I had a 3D printer I would love to design a chassis/speaker holder for the Li-ion+emerald+obsidian setup so I could make it all fit in my Fallen hilt without having to borderline jam it in.

Great idea and design! I would buy two without hesitation.

I would also buy at least 2, maybe 4. I'm wondering if tape could be put on the battery holder side to help cushion that outer facing to keep it level in that chassis as a shock absorber as I can see the chance that side could shake loose over time and knock the batteries around.

I also can see that the chassis pull tab is used as a spring/filler to be bendable as the pommel is attached so the chassis doesn't move lengthwise in the hilt. Very clever thinking there. My compliments.


Have you thought about maybe in the future deleting the battery holder totally and just using the chassis with battery contacts instead? Maybe use 9volt connectors on the chassis side and put another one on the wiring to the inner part of the hilt, so it's removable/swappable between hilts? Just a thought to see if that shows interest/possibility.

I could use a few! Are you able to make ones for the two battery set ups, like the red led's use?

Good ideas. I think the issue would be people having to work on their own wiring if we made an all inclusive chassis. Also check your IM

So it looks like everything is good to go on the chassis. I have prices figured out. We have different color resins that will be here Monday including clear colors and we figured out some cool stuff that we can do printing wise. We also ordered 3 more resin printers to help reduce lead times as it takes a little under 10 hours for every 2 printed at a time on one printer. I will post everything by Friday the 24 with examples pictures and hopefully some ready to ship that day. Thank you all for this support.

Posting here myself so when that update comes I won’t miss it. Hopefully by then I’ll have actual money and not just a vague promise of something down the road.

If the pricings not crazy I'll buy a couple as soon as you make them!

OK, I am completely useless as an electrician; how does one install the chassis?

...And I apologize in advance if this was already answered  ;)

The chassis is installed by placing the battery housing into the chassis. Its like a cover that just takes space away in the hilt. No wires cut or anything. The battery pack should slide in with ease.

Hey all, I'm a fresh baby to the world of the adult saber world. Last lightsaber I has was that plastic assemble your own lightsaber kids got when they were ten.

SO on to my question, I bought stunt version of The Savior, a mystery saber, and got the free initiate saber with the order, a total of 3 sabers. Looking thru the customization forum cuz I FOR SURE want to try and get artistic with these new toys, I read through this thread, I like what I see but I am curious/concerned.

Is having a chassis like this important for the sabers? Are the battery packs not entirely made secure in the hilt?

Being a novice I wanna make sure I understand some of the necessary ins and outs for not only making my sabers my own, but also making sure they last a while. If this is one of those things that I would need to get to protect the battery pack, then I would 100% love to purchase a few to make sure my sabers are secure.

Also, if there's anything else I should look out for when it comes to securing the longevity of my sabers, please lemme know! Or point me in the direction of the appropriate forum topic/thread

With the way US has their set up currently you run the risk of fractures on the housing of the battery due to impacts with the space in hilt. most people put foam or tape to help with this. There is also wear and tear when removing batteries. Besides that wires breaking from removal or impact can happen as well.
MsMalices chassis are made to remove the space that is left over from the building process. There is no need for my chassis. you can do everything just fine. Some people spin or spar and this helps keep the battery in place and the housing safe is all.

I just received three of Ms. Malice’s chassis, and installed two (because the third saber for which I bought a chassis is not currently in my household), and they’re lovely!  They fit perfectly, and seem to be very sturdy, as well.  It’s definitely a better, sturdier solution than the Velcro strip, ribbon, and sponge spacer that I had been using.  (Yes, that worked, and I had incurred no damage, but still... this looks and feels much better.) 

I am very pleased with my purchase, and if my other stunt sabers were not V2s, I would have bought more.

I greatly appreciate the info! Granted I don't foresee me sparing with anybody in the future, although who knows, I could get addicted to this brave new world and follow the rabbit down the hole. I'll wait to see what my two random sabers are and how all three feel. Tracking is telling me by Friday so I guess I'll make my decision then! Thank you so much for your answers!!

A Update from Ms. Malice. Thanks to the fantastic ZanarCrestrider, we were able to crack the case of how do we get other colors.there is a 2$ custom color charge per chassis but subject to discount based on volume.    We are now able to do most colors by request. here is an example of pink (https://i.imgur.com/iDQvys1.jpg)

We have also found some uninstalled boards that should help with chassis designs (hopefully some good prototypes) for the installed sabers with warranty's. I havnt had the heart to dismantle my diamonds boards but now i dont have to. I have a V3 and a Diamond. RnD will start soon as the rough draft have been started. We are (ms malice and I) debating what design we wanna focus on first.

Yay for being the random chucklehead that just happened to ask the right questions that inspired you guys. I really didn’t do anything except keep buying more chassis in different colors. Oh well, I still get the benefit of color matching my sabers, cause I like doing that for some silly reason.

I am interested in Diamond (because I have one, with another to come soon, and the possibility of ordering a third chassis for a buddy who also has one), but it looks like three would be my max order.  So, for whatever that’s worth, you have my input.

And $2 extra for custom color is not a deal-breaker for me.

I also would be interested in chassis designed for Diamond cards. Even if it's just a clamshell design that fits above the speaker and just makes it so there's no wobble movement for the card would be a great improvement. I periodically get a short and shutoff if the usb connection touches the inside of the hilt. I really see this in my Graflex hilts, for example.

I've used 1.25 OD poly tubing for chassis but it requires much cutting, trimming and sanding and i'm getting too old to do it myself, because I don't have access to the machining tools to do it automatically anymore. Company I work for sold off their CNC machines  & lathes and only work with 3D printers I don't have the knowledge to set up in CAD.

I have offered and still do to all forum members ( no strings ) if you need a CAD drawing done or a 3d printer file

Now that I was able to breath a sigh of relief on Friday once I got my son's saber back in order, I put in an order for 2 chassis. Look forward to installing them!

I have to admit my wife was confused with the order of the goodies you sent. I didn’t order that I said. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Then the chassis came out and I was like oooooh. Yes that was me. Lol 😂

One small critique ... my son’s battery back wants to lose 1 battery more than mine. So that gap between the pack and the chassis is just enough for the battery slip just a bit. But it does still maintain connection, but it could be tighter.

The loss of the rattle is amazing!

There is a reason I have a chassis it every single saber I have that can take one. I'll end up getting his diamond chassis once that's done too. Right now I have more on order, for my wife's sabers, my son's sabers, and my new saber that will be arriving tomorrow. I'd order more if I had places to put them. He even does a great job at colors, as long as you tell him what color you want. I like color coding the chassis to match the saber's color.

I wounder if you have bowing at the corners of your housing. Ive seen this on one of mine my i replaced it with a new housing. So the cornors look like skate board tails on the cornors. Do you see this issue with yours?

Cant wait to see what you get!! We are almost done printing our next grade of strength chassis(40 so far adn counting). We are still waiting on the new machine for the high end chassis (3 weeks). but the ones im making now have not broken from the drop test at 10" only at 20" did they crack. the top tier chassis material would not break and will be able to support a smaller form factor to support the sound cards with out voiding your warranty.  Keep an eye out for an Saberforum only giveaway coming soon.

You would almost think I forgot about the saber the second I set it aside... and you would be right. Completely engrossed in the chassis and goodies I got.

I don’t remember if I mentioned it, but the saber is an Aeon v2 when I get around to showing it off.

I need to do a quick review as I just got my first chassis and am ecstatic.

I have to say anybody looking at buying Ms. Malice's chassis's that these are a great addition to your saber (takes out every bit of rattle from the batteries). GeneralMalice is a great guy who goes above and beyond, and his chassis are top quality. Now I just need wait until I am a little more flush with funds to buy enough for all my sabers!

Interesting concept for the sound chassis set up. I agree the tape used by US to complete their electronic installs can be annoying because it's not always the same so it can cause problems with making a chassis to use for every hilt they sell.

I've used heat shrink tubing to replace that tape because it's more uniform, more secure and doesn't "sweat" like the adhesive the tape uses. I guess tape is faster and cheaper to use.

This is very impressive!  I love the new v2 design and its rigidness.  I also love the new circuity design you incorporated as well, very sharp!  You have definitely taken this to a whole new level and raised the bar for everyone else.  Please keep up the innovative and creative designs.  Great job on this!!  I am looking at getting one for my Dark Graflex.  I don't do the combat thing, just swing and train with it on my own.  Again, you have done a great job and created a superb design.

As an owner of 4 of the V1 chassis, I can guarantee that you will be COMPLETELY SATISFIED. The magic they put into them is amazing. Not to mention the free gifts that are included. My kids are always asking when I am going to order again, so they can get prizes, lol.

+1 on this, own a bunch of the V1's and just placed another order for both V2's and more of the originals (can't wait to try the new V2's in my go to sabers). I love the free gifts as well, kinda hooked on the cards now  ;D.

Just got my new V2 chassis in and I have to say I'm blown away! The V1's are very sturdy themselves but these V2's feel nearly indestructible. I like the printed circuitry as it looks like part of the saber itself when removing it. And as always it was very quick shipping and the extras are awesome (wondering now why I hadn't bought the cards before). Overall can't thank GM enough for the great product and the great overall experience of buying from him.

Howdy all, MS malice and my self wanted to say happy holidays to everyone. Hope everyone got the saber they wanted!!

Sorry for the zombie thread but I just wanted to say USPS just dropped off a box from Ms Malice (just in time for May the 4th). Once I get these open, all of my Ultrasabers (except my Initiate v2) will have a Ms Malice chassis inside. They're a great company selling a great product. Clearly I'm a big fan.

I remember seeing your thread least year and it grew so it's hard to find the key part.  Are you still making these?  Where do I go to order some?  How do I know what I need?

I assume these are for stunt sabers, based on the pics.  In my last order I got a free Initiate (v2?) and free Dominix.

I assume these will help with rattle/protect the chassis.

My first pair of Obsidian v4 sabers both broke at the edge of the battery chassis where it joins the speaker housing, so I I'm more cautious this time around.

Do you make chassis for Obsidian & Diamond based setups as well?

That was quick!  I just got my order.  They look great.  I am tempted to do a black wash over them just to fill in the circuit lines.  I like how you made them look cool, despite something that's hidden.

I have one small problem.  I don't know if I mis-specified the size, but they are too big to fit in the hilt of my Initiate and Dominix (not sure the v, these are brand new from US).

I know I typed in 85mm, which I thought was the right size.  I'll have to hunt to see if I have a metric ruler.

update (I found a metric ruler):
they are 85mm long.  and the eBay page implies this is the right size:
85mm chassis are for the models "DarkInitiate v3, Initiate v3, Dark Initiate LE v3, Initiate LE v3, Aeon v3, Dominixv3, Dominix LE v3,  Standard Battle issue (any verson)

95mm Chassis will fit all other models.

My problem is they are too wide/wrong diameter.    Even the pull grip is too wide to fit in my Initiate.

is the 95mm skinnier? Was I supposed to get that?  I just assumed I had the latest version models, could be my mistake.

Hello there. If I’m not mistaken those bottom two hilts are V2’s, which have a slightly smaller diameter than the v3’s.

I believe you're right.  I contacted General Malice on eBay and they're helping me fix my mistake.

Sorry for not posting in a while. It's been a minute so I wanted to say hi since I do see some of you guys off site.
We have a new custom US we will post pictures of that we are going to finish this week. We hope everyone will like what we present.  Ms.Malice has been working on this on and off for almost a year. But it should be worth the wild. A new chassis is involved. But this is for a custom build so not the US card chassis as of yet.
