Seriously, you don't want me anywhere near a soldering iron. So, if I'd like to customize a saber, could I, let's say, purchase a Dark Shock and at a later date switch out the emitter and pommel? Or would that involve some re-wiring?

The emitter and pommel on a Dark Shock (or, indeed, any Shock) can be removed and swapped with any MHS compatible pieces. No soldering or wiring involved - they just unscrew and you can pop another MHS piece in its place.

Off the top of my head, the Consular, Manticore, all Reapers, all Omens, Overlord, Archon, both Arbiters have MHS pommels and either MHS emitters, or MHS neck pieces and emitters. I may be forgetting some... Malice, maybe?

Every 'sabre US make has an MHS pommel, except for the Dominix v2, Aeon v2, Dark Initiate v2 and Initiate v2, which are different diameters and so aren't compatible.

Cool, I was looking at the Consular emitter and the Archon pommel so it sounds like it should work.

The Malice is indeed mhs compatible and her choke is also mhs. So youve got 3 parts to switch out!

Another thing to consiter is getting led modules with quick conects so you can change out the color this something I add to my sabers here at home or if you can spend the extra $$$ go with an emerald driver. But as far as just swaping out parts look for sabers that are mhs compatable for bolth the emitter and pomel.

You will need QDs if you want to change out the emitter without soldering. Or is that only true for the Catalyst, due to the choke?

That one.  It actually uses a different heat sink as well( its an aluminum plate that the led rests on) so you would need  a different led module to fit, the mls won't fit unless you used an extension and the smaller led module just won't work. I can give you pics if you need.

Although some if the emitters sold by the other guys would work without an extension but you would have to wire if threw the heat sink that comes with it. Pm Me if you need More details on them.
