Well, I planned on purchasing my first saber this week. So I wanted a little input. =]
I was looking into getting a Double Blade Saber but all of them look like they could be fun. The Prophecy looks cool but i'm unsure how well it handles next to the others. Both the Liberator and the Phantasm look fun and easy to handle. Any thoughts? =p

Probably not the thing for you if you really want to go staff saber, but many think the grab bag saber the way to go. Its a random way to perhaps get the weapon you are intended to have...

One thing to keep in mind is the overall size of the staff when fully assembled. You probably don't want it to be much taller than you.

As far as the various types, not sure what your budget is. Phantasm or Standard Issue both seem like good starter choices, especially if you are into customization. No real obstructions on the hilts either, seems good in that regard. Liberator seems like a fine choice as well, if you can afford it. Prophecy looks cool, but looks like a lot of fancy stuff on the hilts that could get in the way.

It's your choice, just go with what seems coolest to you in your price range, and think about the options you want (unusual colors, different blade type and length, etc.), which can change the total price as well. You know your own tastes.

I'll have to take that grab bag to mind. I was thinking staff would be cool to use but that does open up some options for me.
I'm not to concerned price wise, I just sold a few video game systems so I can afford it. Thanks.

Getting a staff is good because then if a friend comes over you can separate the sabers into two and have one to share.

Not to mention the dual wield thing if you don't need to share...

It could be fun having a battle staff with two different colored blades. Grin

Go green? Go red!

I would suggest a staff as well. Either the standard issue staff or dominix staff. Both hilts are pretty simple and allow you to test your own feel on the grip. The dominix is lighter and would give you a better smooth feel, speed wise. On the other hand, standard issue is great too. Either way, try not to get a saber that has too much going on, might not fit your style, also nothing that would look too uncomfortable In your opinion. If you plan on heavy dueling, get the heavy duty.

Thanks for the input guys. After some thinking i'll be getting a Liberator battle staff. It's that or the Phantasm and I like the design of the Liberator more.

Good choice, I've got a pair of Liberators with staff connector, and I love them for dual wielding or staff play. They're gorgeous sabers and I think you're gonna love them. What color are you getting?
