Have you ever had a 'They're behind me, aren't they?' moment? Yes, while at court having just agreed to join the US Marine Corps and avoid juvi...I had a big grin, knowing I could just walk away and not have to deal with the dumb recruiters...and then the above moment...followed by a hand on my shoulder and a come along son we have paperwork to fill out. Have you ever bit into a sandwich which tasted just fine but the shock of not being what you expected caused you to stop mid chew? (Expected peanutbutter and jelly, got egg salad)

I don't think so Have you ever returned home after school only to realize that you completely forgot to bring the key with you when you left, and no one was home to open the door for you?
wasn't an issue at my parents place when I was a kid, doors were rarely locked. Advantage of growing up in a small country town, back then everyone knew everyone and crime wasn't a huge issue. I do remember breaking in through a window one time though, but my mum was there helping me so we musta locked the doors occasionally. have you ever had to break into a caravan (or similar) through a window? (very difficult, and an hr later my aunty found the key to the caravans door in her handbag. I wasn't impressed since I was 10 and was the one made to climb through the itty bitty window.)

Haha. This happened to me back in middle school. My neighbor saw me and invited me over to her place while I waited for my mom to come back. wasn't an issue at my parents place when I was a kid, doors were rarely locked. Advantage of growing up in a small country town, back then everyone knew everyone and crime wasn't a huge issue. I do remember breaking in through a window one time though, but my mum was there helping me so we musta locked the doors occasionally.

That must have been nice. And no, I haven't. Have you ever been approached by a guy speaking in German who kept pointing every which way and flailing his arms about? Then when you finally decide to walk away, he switches to English?

Lol No, but Si, en Espanol.
I usually try to preface my conversation with Spanish speaking individuals that my Spanish not only rusty, but very limited. If they go slow I can help them, but quickly, and I'm lost in a flash. I usually find out that they can indeed speak English.
Have you ever surprised someone with how many different languages you can say hello in?
I can give greetings in
English-fluent Spanish-semi conversational Japanese-I can also count, and give formal ceremonies for certain Martial arts classes. Chinese- greetings only Russian- A few local phrases, where is the bathroom etcetera French- a few local phrases, I don't have to work today etcetera Italian- greeting only Swahili- greeting only Arabic- command based. I can give greetings and pleasantries. Tell you I'm going to search you, go away, get down on the ground, etcetera German- Greetings only, (my wife speaks fluently.)
I really like linguistics.

Erm no. I speak English only. Did French at school but remember very little of it. Learnt some minor Korean, like counting, commands for Taekwondo class, and I used to be able to say the moves for my patterns in Korean (forgotten now). I'm very much not good with languages have you ever gotten stuck reading posts on a forum then thought oh wow- its nearly 6am?!

Yes, actually.
Have you ever watched anything in Subs, and then caught yourself thinking or talking in another language unintentionally afterwords?

No, I haven't.
Have you ever forgotten to clamp something in place in a drill-press and nearly broken a thumb because of your stupid mistake? I really need to stop doing projects while I'm sick and drugged up.

No...I have a manageable degree of OCD so I have a process...leaving the chuck key in would cause me to start everything over...so no...but what a knuckle breaker if you did leave it in... Have you ever been challenged by another dojo's instructors to an open sparring match? (while in New Orleans, our Judo/Jujutsu gym was routinely challenged but black belts from other styles...to the point where we closed the doors on Sat to allow for invitation only private training and martial interviews...lol...had to call them something else because dueling is questionable at best...we had professional kickboxers, lots of TKD types, boxers, etc. pop up and ask to challenge our gym)

not to my knowledge. I doubt something like that would've happened anyway in our town, and I cant imagine our then head instructor doing that, not his style. we had invitational tournaments and the like where we had competitions with other TKD clubs/ academies, but that was it
have you ever gone to sign back into an mmorpg you haven't played in ages, remembered your username and password, only to get stuck at the next screen asking for one of your character names as security coz you are signing in from a different IP address, and you cant remember any of your characters names?!

No...I have not played any mmorpg. Right? I know this sounds crazy, but here is my mmorpg ID...play me maybe? lol Have you ever been sponsored, as in money, by a commercial sports equipment organization. (when I was a kid, 13-14yrs old I was picked up by Nash to travel around the local skate parks and around Florida...$75 plus expenses...lol a bus ticket, meals, and a shared room ...not that bad for a kid in 1978-1979)
