It's been a looooong long time, sitting around and playing AC and watching parkour videos, getting inspired only to find myself only becoming lazier and lazier. But a month ago I began looking up Parkour How-to videos on YouTube! So far I can "kong vault" over a bench at the nearby park, and do dive-rolls through the rope swing in my front yard.
This is all thanks to LaFlaire Parkour, and Ronniestreetstunts on Youtube!
Not only is this making me feel more free and capable of overcoming new challenges, but it has also beefed up my arms and chest a bit. Also helping me with my saber training!

I just started a parkour school in Beaverton. It's pretty awesome. I'd definitely invest in getting mats if you're going to work on precision jumps and things of that nature.

I would love to learn some hardcore parkour! The only thing I can really do right now is launch myself up a wall, but it's better than nothing!

Parkour is interesting, but the place I live in isn't very conductive to it. A wannabe parkourist in Russian countryside will end up knee deep in refuse, stung by stinging nettles and burned by giant hogweed (think poison ivy, but in a form of a very tall grass / dense shrubbery), his ass bitten by the neighbours' angry guard dogs who know nothing about fashionable city slicker sports, and having to pay for all the sheds and fences he broke during his exercises. That's if he avoids a shotgun blast for being mistaked for a crop thief.

Not all parkour is necessarily like that. I go to a park and practice one thing at a time. There's always a way to play it safe. |
