Custom V2 Aeon Update

Hi, just updating a customization I am working on. I mislabelled previous thread as a dominix, when it was actually an Aeon. I had previously finished the emitter section with a shroud and two Raven claws.



Thanks to all who made suggestions as to where to go from there. I have finished the switch area sleeve, and installed the electronics going with a yellow blade. Here is the result so far



And here is a close up of the switch area, and a side profile




I am unsure as to whether I will leave it as is, or add a pommel, or even a pommel and grip. Any thoughts?

This looks really great! I liked the emitter when you posted about that, but now I like the switch area even more. I think if you can make a pommel that is about the same width as the emitter and switch area that it would balance it out rather nicely. IMO I prefer it without grips, but I don't see why some vertical Graflex type grips wouldn't work since they would still show off the gold anodizing which makes the LE version so great.

I like the new clawed emitter and especially the design on the sleeve.  Could I see a pic of the full saber?  It would be easier to tell if it needs a pommel seeing the whole thing together.

I don't know about a grip, but I think it definitely needs a pommel to balance out the look.

Your hilt is rockin. What material did you uses for your sleeve? I have the rbg model and i'll brush a button every now and then twirling it around like a MOFO. I've just got a basic Aeon hilt so its looking sleek but a bit bland and boring. I was pondering to add some kind of emitor aswell but dunno where to start. Think i'd probably end up ruining it.

the sleeves were 3D printed I am pretty sure to allow the pieces to slide on with no machining or modding

id go with a worn looking (maybe event slightly ragged) wrapped grip of leather (there is a kind of leather that looks like it could have been possibly human flesh which i think would be perfect for such a sith looking saber and yeah i concur.. it needs the pommel to balance it out.

Yes 3d printed. Sometimes it's a bit too tight a fit and needs a little sanding to slide on. I am working on the pommel. I tried printing one out but the shape got lost in translation to the printer, so ended up with a useless mass of plastic. Whatever time I save in minimal machining gets lost in the 3d design process.

That is class. i obviously need to get a 3d printer. Think i might try and aim to get some leather or maybe something else.
Smashing apart an old original Xbox later to see if theres anything interesting looking inside to add to my hilt. Should be fun. The question is to i rip it apart methodically or just chuck it out of a window.

Thanks all.
I have printed a grip and will do a pommel tonight and post the pics. I did a pommel last night but wasn't happy with it. The grip is very open so you still see the gold grooves and silver handle underneath.
