So, as I've said before, I finally started training again after being injured last December and having to go through several surgeries. Up until now, it's been mostly light training and getting my form back. But today, I was feeling pretty good so I decided to go all out. I do strike training against my 80 lb heavy bag. Swinging at nothing is good for form, but you gotta love feeling your weapon actually contact something. So, anyways, I always check my equipment before training to make sure everything's safe and today was no different. No cracks or anything wrong with the kendo stick. About 15 minutes in, I hear this loud crack and see pieces of the shinai just fly everywhere. Never seen anything like it in person. I say shattering a kendo stick is something to brag about. ^_^
