So I finally obtained my slightly modified Shock from US today. I figured I'd do a small review, though I won't really get to truly tinker around with it until mid-December.
First of all, I went all out on this saber. It has all of the bells and whistles, from a Recharge Port to Flash on Clash. I wanted this to be my "Graduated" saber, a step up from when I purchased my original Initiate V3 about a year ago. I will be swapping out MHS parts in the future on this saber, such as adding a crystal chamber and whatnot, but for now this is how it stands. I have decided to name this saber "Redemption".
-It is about the same weight as my modified Initiate.
-The DVA blade color is absolutely fantastic. Mine as a bit more on the blue side, so it has a very deep, dark indigo hue to it.
-I love the convenience of the recharge port. It makes handling the saber's batteries so much easier. I am far less paranoid about this saber than my other one when it comes to charging it.
-The Quick Disconnect feature is awesome. I hope to purchase more colors to swap out in this hilt in the future. I'm thinking CG, VA, BR, and perhaps SRD at some point. I'm rather fond of the DVA though.
-Sturdy and machined very finely. I'm rather content with the design of this hilt. Especially with the activation box I had added to it, which I think helps make the design stand out.
-The Activation Box. Some people think this gets in the way, but I love it. It has a flare to it, and meshes nicely with the design of the saber. Plus, it hardly gets in the way at all.
Overall, I am very well pleased with this saber. I had some issues with my first US purchase, but I sense good things to come from this one. Now all I need to do is get on saving up for those MHS parts to help make this into the image I desire.
Anyway, here are some pictures I was able to take.
