I see some new ideas here, I like it...I didn't wear any at first until a very hard strike to my right index finger, it was black and blue and swollen for a day.,..now I use motorcycle gloves, work perfectly and still have a lot of feel

I picked up a couple of fencing gloves. They are working fine for now.

One of my favorite parts about wearing protective gear (gloves included) is pretending that it's armor.  It's dorky to be sure, but so is having a replica lightsaber Wink

The point is, you get protection and an added bonus of feeling like an armored Jedi or Sith.

Sometimes when I spar with Darth Abaddon, I feel like I should be wearing a full ice hockey kit......

Hockey gloves and helmet/cage combo are a good choice though. And the shoulder pads can be painted to make great Sith armor!

Yeah I definitely need some motocross armor like MAV's, if nothing else as a costume supplement!  Plus his has some nice protection on the shoulders and back that my fencing vest is lacking in, which makes practicing stuff like Shii-Cho a bit easier and safer.

Having taken a couple of (luckily not too hard!) blows to the knuckles, I'll certainly be investing in a pair within the week! I don't intend to have bruises after next week's class  Grin

I use welding glove for both saber and real sword fighting.  I would also recommend a three weapon fencing mask, and groin protection.

We picked up Lacrosse gloves after fencing gloves weren't offering enough protection after my friend brought out his fencing masks. He started hitting harder and going for more areas since the head is protected. They work great.

Lacrosse gloves are nice we use those also.  But you can't beat the $5 price of welding gloves.  Some of our sword fighters add padding and tailor them to fit better.  Also most of the gloves in SW are a type of welding or fencing glove.

Finally able to upgrade from my airsoft gloves, which although had good knuckle protection (shoulda seen an opponent look worried when he caught the armoured part, thought he'd caught me badly and I just grinned Tongue ), had no finger coverings from the lowest knuckle (they *are* for airsoft after all), to a set of the LamaDiLuce gloves from Ludosport. Damn, are they some good gloves!  Grin  Much better protection all over & good grip on the saber, no matter how long you've been training/sparring and sweating into them Tongue
