After reading the LudoSport web page, I would love to see those gloves available for purchase internationally. I have taken two good strikes on my thumb, so I went today to find something to try and help protect from that specific type of impact. Hockey and lacrosse gloves felt too unwieldy from what I tried in the store locally. After looking around, I decided to pick up a set of gloves from Under Armour (UA Combat IV full finger gloves).

They look as if they have decent protection for light combat, though I don't know that I would trust them for full power combat. The one thing I do not like on this specific glove is the lack of fingertip protection, but otherwise they seem to cover all the areas I would hope to protect (thumb, back of hand, fingers) . Of course, anything is better than nothing.

As I get some practice in with them, I will report back again.

Hey Sentry,
Go to Amazon or ebay and search for "Tuffknucks mechanics gloves"
I switched over to these from Lacrosse gloves and so have most of my students.
They offer pretty good protection have great flexibility, and are dirt cheap.
They have medium, Large and extra large sizes available (the company's site says small too, but I cant seem to find them anywhere).  I think I paid $15 a pair with free shipping on Amazon, and $12 with free shipping on ebay.
Check out the lightsaber dueling video I posted today to see several of us with them on (they are orange) vs those still in Lacrosse gloves.

Oh yeah, they do have a little extra thumb protection too (I saw someone mention that ...) :-)

Oooh, orange... very nice!
Thanks so much for pointing these out. At $12-15, getting a few pair to cover a range of hand sizes for dueling partners sounds like a great idea.

If you are enrolled in a LudoSport Academy, ask your Rector. If you are not, at the moment you can't, I am afraid. This should change soon, but I don't know exactly when.

Cool option!  Good explanation too, thanks TJ.  Point for you.

I'm a big fan of hockey gloves as sparring gloves myself.

I love hockey gloves. They're comfortable, as well as protective. Not to mention they look cool.
