New member of the Knightly Order of the Fiat Lux

Hey all ! it's been a very long time since I've last posted. I had alot of person RL stuff to take care of, but it's all good now. but on to what I really wanted to post ! This past year I learned of full contact medieval combat games, Dagorhir battle games. While attending I met a lot of different people involved in many different things, from seamstress to blacksmiths. After a particularly heated 20 on 20 battle, I was approached by a gentleman wearing full plate armor (come to find out he was a Knight) and proceeded to ask me if i was interested in steel combat. I was hesitant at first to be sure, but after spending some time with him and his squire and learning a bit more about it, I ended up applying to the Knightly Order of the Fiat Lux. I just recently received a letter from the Knighthood and boy was I nervous. As I shakily opened the letter, I was greeted with a beautiful red and white crest letter head. I WAS ACCEPTED !!! I am now a squire in a legit knighthood !!! Let me tell you, swinging a steel sword is much much different that a saber, but the combat aspect is totally transferable, after dropping the shield of course lol. Also, come to find out, most of the Upstate NY chapter are huge Star Wars fans. I was asked to bring a few of my sabers to our bi weekly game night so they can check them out, as they all have master replicas with more than one or two dim spots. with a little luck, I might be bringing a few more people to the Ultra side !!
