I still and will always love SY, but I also like SRD.  My soon-to-arrive Guardian is in SRD, at least until I figure out how to copy that totally awesome color-swapping dip-switch mod someone posted a while back...    And then I'll probably set it to SY...  LOL

What about purple? Even though it was originally wielded by mace windu (and we all know the behind the scenes story as to why Sam wanted a purple lightsaber) I always thought it had more sith leanings. But maybe that's just me

I must admit, my reaction to the purple lightsaber in AOTC was the same as other people's reaction to Luke's green lightsaber in ROTJ. Plus I love Sam L Jackson.

In purely aesthetic terms, I do like the look of the PO, SRD, SY, Silver as well as BR.

Actually, for stunning looks, its really hard to be Violet Amethyst.  Especially in a dark hilt.  It is just an amazing color.  My daughter wields it and we all love it.

I'm definitely considering getting an dark apprentice or dark initiate with VA as a second saber to dual wield in photos. I think a red blade and purple blade combo will look amazing

It does.  We were doing some "practice" outside at Thanksgiving in the dark, and one of my daughter's blades was dying and went red.  So she had a red and VA blade going, looked really cool.  With a full-up BR blade it would be even better.  Very striking.

Whenever I get my Dark Apprentice in VA I'll be sure to post some pics. I just emailed US yesterday to see if I could upgrade battery packs as that seems to be the only thing holding it back from shipping.

Blazing Red. Enough said. I feel if you are a true sith that you must have a red saber. My personal opinion though. I haven't seen a Sith that has used any other color than red.

Exar Kun stayed with his blue bladed saber his entire life.

Darth Vader used his Blue blade until he was forced to construct a new one after Obi-Wobi stole his.

Darth Sidious used a Blue blade for a time after his resurrection (now considered non-canon).

There are probably other examples I cannot think of at the moment.
