Pyrestone Orange is definitely a great color. I have a stunt Empress in that color.   The blade kinda looks yellow in the pic, but the cast off on the wall shows the color pretty accurately. |

Yeah, getting the true color from a reflection is a common thing when photographing sabers.

Try using a (turned-off) TV or computer monitor; the reflective black surface does a pretty good job. Also, get close enough to the screen to get a picture of the reflection, but not the blade; that might help the optical sensor in the camera to not get overloaded.

Nice! Sentinel yellow is a great color and really accurate to what she had in the movie. I almost ordered that for mine, but Pyrestone Orange was just calling my name. And, yes, SY is a difficult color to photograph. Though, it does help if you turn on HDR, if you have that option. I took this picture of my Savior in SY with my iPhone 6S with HDR:  Of course, the TV thing Cyclops942 mentioned also works well.  Yeah, getting the true color from a reflection is a common thing when photographing sabers.
It sure is. It helps that the walls in my apartment are off white, so they show colors really well.  |
