Got my shipping notices on Sunday for my three separate saber orders and was so excited... until this morning when I received an update from the new shipping company UPS "Duty and Tax amount due:   19.74 CAD" tomorrow... um... I already paid shipping... I paid the same as we did for our first saber, which came via FedEx and did NOT require COD... so anyone out of the USA should know you're now probably going to get a COD charge when they arrive.  Just an FYI.

These charges are for GST and PST and handling fees; this is common as not all courier companies have shipping agreements that cover these expenses before hand. Being in this particular business I've seen this often, and it's something out of US control. It's CDN customs that are adding the extra charges, hope that helps.

I understand, I sometimes have to pay COD on things I order from the states however, my concern is FedEx did not charge COD and I paid the same shipping price thinking I was getting FedEx (the order forms haven't been updated to show UPS) but since they've switched UPS does charge.  I wasn't prepared for this as historically US does not need COD when their products arrive.  I just thought warning people would be nice as it's a change from the usual.

I'll agree i'm also a bit gutted about this. Mine also seems to of shipped via UPS when I selected and paid for FedEx. I'm used to FedEx delivering and being able to pay at a more suitable time for me.. whereas now I have to front the COD charge immediately. Which is a slight issue as it's delivery date is before my payday. So, I'll have to spend my weekly food shop money in order to receive my sabers now, as i don't want to risk them being sent back and quite frankly don't want to wait any longer either!

It would of been nice to of been notified of this shipping change in advance to give me longer to prepare for it. Ah well

I'd have to agree with both statements.  The fault doesn't lie with US at all, but the shipping rates on their main site do need to reflect new prices.  

I have a number of packages due to be shipped soon as well, and now hope they wait until I also have funds again. :/

If FEDEX could ship them for that amount, then why can't UPS?

Nice!! jealous of how quick you are getting them :p My sabers are due on Tuesday next week.. slowed down a little by Easter bank holiday weekend (darn it!)
Although it'll be a nice first day back to work after a long weekend to receive sabers

Can't wait to see all these raffle prize pictures start surfacing on the forum!!

Unreleased exclusives? whaaa!!? Didn't know that was a thing! This is my first raffle as i only started purchasing sabers end of last year, this is still new to me :p

That sounds awesome! Do they send many of those out? and what sort of things have people received in the past?

I believe the Omen was released as a prize, but I very well could be wrong.

they also sent out the first of the flamberges during a raffle, some pro-types for curved sabers, and there was a tonfa once
and that's just in the time I've been on the forum

also in good news I found out the consular might be back in stock early April and so I shouldn't be waiting too much longer for my order
