Hello all! I don't know where I've been that I didn't know about this fantastic world of Custom Lightsabers, just found out about all this a few hours ago and I feel home.  After searching the web and the Ultra saber site and forums I have been unsuccesful in locating a body style similar to the type that Count Dooku had.  I duel quite a bit and take lessons, and when the cheapo version of that came out I messed with it and found it to be quite comfortable and that I was rather good with it. As such I was wondering if anyone could direct to me where i could find a body style similar to that, not exactly the same,  I like some customization, but the curved handle is really what I'm after.  With such a different body style would I be able to do sound, and be able to swap out parts, or would I be very limited? I looked at TCSS or whatever it is and I'm wondering what a good led emmiter is, and if they are compatible with items from Ultra Sabers? Are most brands compatible with each other, or if I pick one am I stuck with that brand? I'm quite sure many of these questions are answered other places on these forums, but as there are thousands of post and topics, of which I have read quite a few, and I still have these questions I thought I would just write this and hope that someone can help me.

Thanks,

Welcome man.  Here is a thread talking about curved hilt sabers, like the Dooku hilt you're describing:

http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=2966.msg36957#msg36957

To summarize it, Ultrasabers used to make a curved hilt when they were doing PVC sabers.  As of right now, there is no curved saber produced by them (and very few produced by other places as well).  However, Ultra has dropped hints that a curved saber is something he may be working on - considering its demand here on the forums, it's a likely bet you'll see one in the near future.

I'm with you man, if they come out with one I'll be first in line to grab it.

Yeah I saw those articles after I posted, I noticed the search function. After seeing the picture though I don't like that style, I really would like one that had the flat grip in the middle' similar to the Counts. You mentioned that there are a few models out there now though, where can I find those? Any help with all my other questions?  Oh, and did I even post this in the right area?

To be honest I'm not sure what other places make curved hilts, and even if I did I would be reluctant to advertise them here out of respect for Ultra and crew.  Regardless, rest assured that they're probably MUCH more expensive than what you will find here (some of the custom sabers out there run into the thousands) and in some cases less duel-worthy.  The cool thing about these guys is, they don't put something out unless they're 100% confident they can stand behind it as a rugged dueling weapon.

As to your other questions, there is something called MHS (Modular Hilt System) which refers to compatibility between parts.  Most of the TCSS parts are like this, and some of the Ultrasabers hilts are as well.  It will tell you in the description of the saber whether or not the parts are MHS compatible.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the help Nero, just knowing about that modular hilt thing helps. I hope that the wait isn't too long for a curved hilt.
