This season finale was probably the weakest of them all (at least for me). Apart from Cersei's blow it was a bit sweating and slow. Another load of "King o' da North!" and "Long may she reign!" and "You are now the hand of the queen"-stuff I wasn't really impressed by, it gets a bit old. But the winter is officially here! So update your tees, folks! I liked how focused Dany became - that scene at the end where the ships and dragons headed to West made me think. She now has an absolutely superior army: a fleet, a strong footmen backbone, great and nimble light cavalry on the flanks and an air force noone else has. What can anyone put against her now? Facing her in an open battle would be a pretty disastrous thing to do and what houses remained in Westeros mostly in tatters can be absolutely aware of that. Betrayal and plotting can be an option but Dany has 2 strong counter card for that in her deck: Tyrion and Varys. So it's pretty much coming down to magic. And what does again the super talented Jon Snow do? He sent Melissandre away because of her past mistakes! Now, when she has dropped a lot of fanatism and about to come to senses. I guess she'll be back. So I'm looking forward to the next season but thanks to this episode being a somewhat lukewarm finale, I can wait a year without any problem |
