I walk within both and neither...

So, I have a question for you all:
Have you ever tried to come up with your own unique style? And I don't mean your own take on different preexisting forms, I mean something totally your own.

I myself came up with something rather interesting just yesterday when I was practicing at night.
I don't have a name yet, but I do have the basic idea of what it's for:
A combination of force-ready combat and countering from a safe distance.

One hand is kept open at all times, so that the fighter doesn't have to take their hand off their saber; it already is.

Stance I begins with the arms straight and pointed diagonally, crossing over each other. The Saber is kept pointing upwards, while the other hand is open or pointed. The fighter then uses the saber in short, stabbing arcs, like a mix of fencing and Chinese Wushu swordplay. This is capable of transitioning directly into stance II

Stance II opens with the off hand aimed at the foe with the saber hand held at an angle behind the user's head and above their shoulder. The fighter leans back on their right (or left for southpaws) leg with the other leg extended, then springs off the bent leg to lunge with similar strikes at a greater range and speed. This transitions into stance III.

Stance III begins with the offhand still outstretched, but the combatant now has their body positioned so that their side is presented, not their chest, with their saber hand straight out behind them and the saber pointed downwards in a normal hold. This form is meant almost purely for countering, using an uppercut arc to transition into other attacks before going into the fourth and final stance.

Stance IV has the user's off arm elevated to chest level with the elbow bent so the hand is facing behind them. The Saber hand is behind their back, and the basis of this stance is to apply torque and whip-like power to the wielder's blows. This stance transitions back to Stance I.

Needs work, I know, and I don't have videos yet, but I'll try to get some up eventually. It'll be clearer then, I promise.

Yeah, definitely needs something to go along with it.  Pics might even be better than video to demonstrate the stances.  Video would best be used to show how the forms can be applied to combat, and the transitions between the forms.

But of course!
I'll try to find my camera today and shoot some pics and vids tonight, see if they're good enough.

I think at some point, everyone tries to develop their own skill demonstration, or solo form, or Kata. I try to be clear on the distinction because the word "Form" has several connotations with me and in the Star Wars community as a whole. But yes, I've tried, and I think everyone should try, if anything as an exercise in self exploration and refinement. As for giving it a name, unless you plan on marketing it, then it really doesn't need one. A Demo is about you, you are what is shown, not the form (Uilos' esoteric moment of the day)

I would like to see your kata as well, and look forward to any progress

I would have to wholeheartedly agree with Uilos. I for one have been taking katas from training videos and various hand-to-hand & sword styles (shaolin, wushu, taekwondo, kenpo karate, xma - are the main styles). I organized the katas from easiest to most difficult to create my own sense of going from white belt to a high black belt. I know this wasn't the original point, but it has been helping me tremendously come up with my own creative forms for tkd tourneys Cheesy let alone get better at foot/hand positioning and doing different combinations from my normal ones.

I also look forward to seeing your stances and kata.

I have taken Muay Thai and added bits of Kali and Escrima.

Muay Thai - The way of eight limbs.

I love spider-man, spiders have eight legs.

So the form I developed and taught my wife I call,

The Way Of The Spider.

Also because in my fan fic as a youngling, I was put in the spider clan at the temple.
