The Sick Mystic. [Grey Jedi]

« on: September 10, 2016, 02:47:19 AM »

I will make this short and pointed... I am stupid.

I have a green LED unit from ultra sabers, and have used it with a 2x AAA battery pack for a day or so without a resistor or Buckpuck.

The LED still works, I was just told that I need a Buckpuck to keep it from burning out as fast.

I see that Ultrasabers has a 1000 MA buckpuck. And seeing how I got the LED unit from them also, I should be fine using that Puck.

Nope.

Wiring up the 2x AAA's to my Puck, and my Puck to the LED does not emit light.

I removed the puck and tested my LED again on the 2xAAA's alone, and it worked.

Again... I am a noob... with electrical to be sure. If anyone has any insight, or advice... Or can just tell me what I need to do, I would be greatly appreciative!

Thank you all in advance!

Recap:

Parts Used: 1000 MA BuckPuck, Green LED unit from Ultrasabers (Could not find any tech specs about it on Ultrasabers site) and a Battery pack that holds 2 AAA's (1.5 volt batteries)

The buck pucks require at least 5 volts to work. With 2 AAA batteries you have about 3 volts.

Also note that a standard set up for saber without sound made by US is 4AAA batteries wired with a resistor and the LED. With the Buck Puck, they typically use a li-ion set up for the batteries. The batteries are the same size as AA batteries, but they're 3.7 V batteries.

You can also get them from US.
