I keep seeing people say "Whales", what does it mean?

So why does everyone say I shouldn't get speed mods when people can do that with them.

Whales means people that spend crazy amounts of real money on the game.  Hundreds and hundreds of dollars.  Basically imagine spending all they needed to in order to max Nihilus, Trooper, and Assassin through those packs with crystals.

People don't use the actual speed mods because they take 4 slots.  They use mods with speed ON them.  Mods that have 9 speed in the secondary stats, or 20 or 30 speed on the main stats.  I've linked it here a couple times.  Have you watched the video I posted about a guide to mods?

Yep.  That's why people don't farm for speed mods, aside from the fact that a Resistance team is a pain and you have to put together a set of 4 and make them work with others.  The % bonus is OK, but you can get more out of other mods.

SERIOUSLY, if you don't get certain things about mods, you should watch both of these.  I have a much better understanding after I watched them.  They are also the reason why I keep mentioning don't bother trying to farm the "Speed type" mods, rather look for mods with speed as a stat on them.  I will start slapping mofo's that don't watch these videos and remain clueless.

Any mod can have several different stats for primary.  That's why I kept telling you not to worry about getting a set of Speed Type mods.  Primary is really the important thing because it's the only stat that goes up with each level.  I have a health one that's a +30 speed primary.  However a 7, 8, or 9 in a secondary stat is nothing to overlook as those are pretty good.

Not to my knowledge.  Someone else might have made a written account somewhere of such knowledge, but I haven't tried to find it.  It might be somewhere on the forums or on Reddit.  However such an account would be quite large considering the length of the first video.  Either that or it would be a number of different parts.

It's like the 3rd time I've put them up here.  I'm pretty sure I will get a similar response from DC after he watches them.    

After watching a few of this guys vids, I just subscribed to his channel.  There's been a number of them that have been helpful.  He's also sponsored by EA, which means he gets some of the brand new toons on loan as they come out or even beforehand.  He's not supposed to use them in PvP too much, but he's allowed to play with them freely for a while otherwise.  I believe he has an Android account and an iOS account, and one of them is like his EA testing account and one is more of a personal account.  It helps him make some really good vids about how new toons work in general, their skills, their synergy, etc.

Bah...  Once again credit heist was the same ol 2.5 mil x2.  Most of my guild gets this too.  Rather annoying that everybody is getting shorted better rewards anymore.  Ah well, it was enough at this point for what I needed.  My Droid squad, minus the Engineer, is HK-47, IG-88, IG-86, and K-2SO.  Now I have Grievous, IG-100, and B2 all at 85 that I can play with to see who will make the best 5th member in the upcoming Droid event.  I'm going to bet B2 because of his counter ability and the fact that he can AOE an entire group and buff block them.

I don't really think that the speed % mods are that neglectable. Remember, the higher your overall speed, the better for the speed % mod. And you can get speed as primary and secondary stats on those. It kills two birds with one stone - speed modding with speed stats plus the 10% bonus is always better than speed modding without 10%, isn't it? Of course, you need the full Resistance squad first, which is very hard to push to the level needed for Tier III.
