lol That must seem hilarious.

With the Vented Initiate I have to put the pommel on first to push the chassis down to make room for the o-ring. It gets a little snug to just push down on. Might put my finger through the speaker or something.

Put these to the test last night and no wiring failures. The most surprising thing was the weight of the stick build was almost as light as the super stunt. I expected to need to switch to the superstunt after a round or two but not once did I think to myself "this is getting heavy". I need double chokes on this build...

Ahhh, it all makes sense now. Its easy to think you were forgetting, as I could totally see myself doing that on a regular basis too Smiley Have an extra point for my erroneous assumption!

No worries at all! Real funny to think though you could start placing bets on whether or not I'd remember. I recall mumbling something about it but mostly because its not an actual o-ring but a hair tie lol.

But what is a hair tie, if not a fabric O-Ring? Smiley

That makes perfect sense.

It was funnier when I thought you were constantly forgetting though - something I'd do.   Roll Eyes

+1 again Calculon. Smiley

...and -1 to Corwyn - just for the heck of it...

You, sir, truly are a wiring genius.  I love how you do all of this custom work, what no doubt amounts to countless hours spent soldering and doing this and that, yet you're so chill about it.  "Yeah, I did this, I did that."  Cheesy  Nice humility.

I'm sorry if you've answered this before, but how do you get your blades to light up the way they do?  I love how the light comes on slowly and sort of goes up the blade, much like it does in the films.  I'd imagine it has to do with the LED coming up in brightness more slowly, but I don't know how you do it.  About the only thing I like that my Force FX saber does better than my Ultra Sabers is how the light goes up the blade to turn on and back down the blade to turn off.  I love that effect and would love to know how to incorporate something similar.  What you do with your blades is definitely similar.

I can't remember if I answered this in an email but it does sound familiar. It may be I was working on a response but had to up and leave in the middle of it.

The lighting effect of your MR is referred to as scrolling. I went after that like a dog with a bone but its not a good place to start lol. Also the weight of the blade with LEDs inside(+1lb or so) would be bad for my wrist. Not sure if I would have been able to wire a crossguard saber had I taken on scrolling right off the bat. To achieve this effect without a lightstring blade, you are correct! The card will have to have the ability to control power on/off delay. With the right blade, led and battery you could reproduce a similar lightstring blade effect but just not as pronounced. Hope that helps!

Thanks a lot. Yes, that does help.  It's not a huge thing for me, It's just something that looks cool.  I figured it was a function of the sound board.  I'll have to look into that, when I start adding sound to some of my stunts.  Grin
