I remember reading somewhere that the best match for US's Fire Orange is actually the "yellow" AV, as it actually appears more amber, whereas the "orange" AV switch US has in stock appears more of a light red; and therefore, if I wanted to order up an Orange blade with a matching orange illuminated switch, I'd want to choose the yellow switch option and not the orange. Can anyone confirm or refute this? Thanks!

That's definitely how I would go. I don't have a saber with either the Orange or Yellow AV switch, but as the mix of red & green to make Fire Orange has more green in it like yellow does, I think yellow would be a much better fit, whereas an orange AV switch would better match a Pyrestone Orange color blade.

Fire Orange is a single orange LED, not a mixed color.  In my opinion, it looks very orange, not green at all.

Unless you get FoC with it, then they use an RGBA apparently (at least, thats what I ended up with when I ordered two of the modules in FO)

Really? I didn't know that. I only have one FO saber and it was a grab bag. When I disassembled it, I saw that it only has two wires, a single positive and negative, indicating a single LED. Sentinel Yellow, meanwhile, has four wires, two positive and negative, for the two LEDs.  I didn't realize they had a different setup for FOC, because none of my sabers have that yet. (the sale has me tempted) Though, it may also depend on what they had on hand, as US no doubt orders stuff wholesale and probably gets different modules.

Yeah, we were worried because on the outside of the MLS module it had SRD in sharpie that had been scribbled out.  Made us wonder if they were out and just modified one they had for me. Fortunately the non MLS unit was identical though.

I have no idea about the wiring, or reasons for using different LED set-ups - I thought FoC was wired directly...again - no idea. O_o

I have neither of those colours as a blade or a switch, so can't say for sure, but I'd tend to agree with Lord Bladewraith - in that, an orange switch would go better with PO - and if I was getting FO, I'd opt for a yellow switch.

FoC is always set up with an RGB LED, otherwise you wouldn't have options like Arctic Blue or Violet Amethyst for FoC. The negative of the FoC is wired directly to the FoC pin of the sound board then. The positive runs from the standard LED + from the board that also leads to the main colour positive.

Apart from that, I also think that the orange LED is more suitable for a darker orange like PO. Yellow would be better for lighter oranges like FO.

In what universe do those "match"? A good pairing, for sure, but a long way from a match  Tongue

That is a great pic for FO, very close to the real thing.

I just picked up these three and I think I need one more on the sithy side, so I'm considering a Dark Sentinel v4 w/ windowed emitter, orange blade and orange av. But I'm thinking you guys are right and a yellow av is the way to go.

So I just got the Dark Sentinel with orange blade and "yellow" switch and yup, definitely confirmed that if you want an amber-orangish switch to match an orange blade, go with a "yellow" AV, which isn't actually yellow but a lite orange and matches the orange blade perfectly.

*eye brows raised* Wow, I have new respect for the yellow illuminated AV switch now. Looks incredible and indeed is a very nice match. Excellent call! Congrats on a that new saber - it looks wicked, man 😎

-1 point for a great showcase.
