Hello Jedi. How nice of you to drop in.

Out of curiousity when people get saberstaffs with sound, do you get them with the sound in one side or in both?  I'm really just curious.  I could see how sound in both sides could either be awesome, or just too much.

I would recommend getting it in both sides, or not at all.  First, there will be a weight difference with only one having sound.  This will destroy any balance the staff has.  Second, having sounds when one blade hits but not the other... idk that just seems silly to me.

That's just my two cents though... "you must do what you feel is right, of course" Wink

IDK sound but this seems right.

Both blades need to have the hit detection.

It will be weird. Grin

When you order a staff with sound, there is a drop down to choose which sabers would be geting sound.

Well, from what I saw, it seems that option is on both, so it shouldn't be an issue...

You get the option for each staff.  I don't think the weight is really a consideration.  I have a Raven with sound and the Obsedian unit and the speaker are tiny-- I don't really think it would have that much effect.  But so far I haven't heard from people with sound in one side (do they regret it?) or on both sides (do they find it awesome)?

Gaius, I got sound in each of my Archon V2s. I connect them as a staff with either the black or the silver coupler depending on which emitters are attached. I like having separate sounds emit from each side and find it AWESOME! The Obsidian is a work of art. It might be possible to attach motion sensors to the side of the staff that doesn't have sound and run the wires to the obsidian in the other side of the staff. Without some type of disconnect, it would be a permanent staff. You need to ask Ultra ([email protected]) if it would work. In that case, what happens if both sides of the staff want motion sound at the same time? Again, Ultra may know the answer. The simple, guaranteed to work solution is to get sound in each side of the staff, plus the Obsidian sound is AWESOME! I hope that answers your question. MTFBWY

I have a raven staff, and an Aeon LE (soon to be staff).  I have sound in all the sabers.  This way if I want to disconnect them each has its own sound.  As far as weight goes, if both has li-lon set-ups I would guess that the weight difference would not be that much.  It would be interesting to hear from someone who has sound in only one side of a staff.
