Hey Prowl, the best thing for you to do right now is purchase a grab bag for yourself and 5 other forum members But I just paid off both credit cards. Which is the best time to buy!! No, no, no, no! It's raining and disgusting outside, which has interrupted my usual 6pm saber-ing time. I played a little bit in the house, but it's not the same! I want to go outside and fight invisible Sith, dammit!
I tend to break light bulbs when I saber inside.

Somewhere on YouTube, I can promise you there is footage of me doing idiotic things with my saber. I am already known as that "Jedi weirdo that lives down the street" (said in a suspicious, somewhat daunted tone).

My YouTube page. Lots of saber videos, mostly US reviews. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTtl0u7wYJpXLNsjODdZTGQ/videosHere's an example.

with all that clashing you'd think someone was coming at you with a blaster.

I was thinking the same thing! I notice my clash is randomly retardedly sensitive and then, it's not. I messed around with the settings yesterday and this yet another example of why "Nox should not touch things at 2am." I'll have to restore the defaults when I can manage to stop parading around the entire neighborhood with it. My husband and I duel each other down the street at night and go running around the woods like idiots. One night, someone with a blaster is totally going to shoot us.

That just sounds like tons of fun I don't have anyone I can duel with any regularity. Those sensitivity settings are tricky though, I'm still playing with and adjusting mine trying to find something that works. It'd be neat to make a blaster with an obsidian sound board.

Yes, Molina refers to my dueling skills as "swinging it around like a madman", lol. I keep trying to get my gf into the sabers but she prefers the stunt ones, she says the sound is too loud. Heresy Your neighbors must not get much sleep.

But the sound is the best part!! It never gets old. It still gets dark early here, so we're done before 8pm, but as summer approaches, that might be another story. I have a lot of weapons and am often practicing with them outside, so my neighbors are probably just like, "Yeeeaaah....." at this point. It's actually hard to swing my Bellicose around like a crazy person, but I can swing the crap out of my Sentinel V4. I got the Bellicose because I knew I'd be able to whack the holy hell out of my husband's saber with it and I was right.

the roads are bad here, I just watched one of my neighbours miss my truck by about six inches because his jeep lost traction going up the hill.

There is no way for me to say this without causing a hell of a lot of snickering, but if some guy told me he had a lightsaber and offered to show it to me? I'd probably say yes. But seriously, find out what she's into. Chat her up about it. If she likes a certain kind of coffee? Bring her a cup one day. If she likes a certain kind of food? Just happen to go there for lunch and bring her some back. Don't make a big deal out of it, just do it. If she says you shouldn't have, shrug and say she can return the favor one day if she wants to. Nothing wrong with being subtle. It gives you a chance to be cool just for the hell of it and anyone can appreciate that. And I can't respond without snickering. I'd love to show her my light saber. In fact, I think I've actually brought it up. Already done the "cool" thing too. She wanted to order from Wings Etc. one day for lunch, but had no time to go get it, so I told her I'd pick up for her on my lunch break, cuz I can go anytime. One day she came in late, and all she had was a liter of Dew and a can of Pringles for lunch, so I told her I was running out for lunch, and asked her what she wanted, and sprang for it. I've even had a non-creepy opportunity to tell her that she smells nice, perfume-wise. We've shot-the-$#!% about paintball, child rearing, movies, neat houses, etc. I just really hope she is going through one of those womanly phases, where she just wants to be alone right now. Why are woman so terrifying.

Women view men in much the same way, I suspect. I've been told I think/act more like a man, so I don't do the whole "will she or won't she?" game very well. What you see is what you get. When my husband asked me out on a date for the first time, I actually didn't expect that I'd so much as like him because we seemed to be opposites. Well, 13 years later . . . We're not opposites at all. I was just young and stupid and didn't realize that yin and yang is a perfect match as opposed to yang and yang, which is what I had been after for so many years. So, the next step is then to ask her out for something non-threatening. Coffee. Tea. A beer. Whatever. Or you can just keep being her friend. Your choice on that one. Only you can decide when the time or isn't right. I'd give you the whole "fear is the path to the Dark Side" line, but somehow, I don't think Jedi wisdom helps.

I think I'm a little beyond "path to the Dark Side" bit. I took the Autobahn. The opportunity had presented itself last Friday. She wanted to go see 50 Shades, but is reluctant to spend the money at the show. I told her she "needs to find somebody to take her to see it" {wink wink} But we were both busy for the rest of that afternoon, and my chance to officially ask was over shadowed by my work ethic. I have a subtle plan in motion to try to get her to call me. I was given womanly advice that I should give it about 2 weeks to come to fruition before abandonning hope. I don't like long waits, it gives me too much time to think (read: worry).

Oh, yes. That's why I kept my Jedi thoughts to myself. Bah, time limits. I don't even get how society comes up with this crap about "wait THIS long for THIS thing to happen and then? Do THAT thing." I guess I'm just all about living in the moment and not worrying about what I "should" or "should not" do. My intuition is usually right (for myself) if I can get over my concerns enough to just trust it. It sounds to me as if you could at least get a cool friend out of the deal if nothing else, so props to you for that one. But, you know, if you guys want to see a horror movie, I can think of better ones than "50 Shades of I Have Never Been Involved in Actual BDSM." The things we do for love, right?
