To me, Jacky Brown is one of the best Tarantino .... and you are Right ... this Soundtrack!!!!! Street life .....
i love that in Elmore Leonard's novel, Jackie Brown is actually white and Tarantino was nervous about what Leonard would say about him changing her to a black woman. Not only didnLeonard give his blessing for the change, he said out of all the movie adaptations of his work, Jackie Brown is by far the best (i would say Get Shorty is a close second).
If I had to rate (would be redundant to say 'my favorite', since I'm including all of them lmao) Tarantino's movies from best to least best, in my opinion it'd go like this:
Inglorious Basterds
Hateful Eight
Kill Bill 1 and 2
Pulp Fiction
Django
Reservoir Dogs
Death Proof
Jackie Brown
For me it goes:
Inglorious Basterds (his masterpiece)
Pulp Fiction
Kill Bill 1&2
Jackie Brown/Reservoir Dogs/True Romance (i know he just wrote the screenplay for True Romance but Tony Scott kept 98% of what Tarantino wrote. tarantino even has a commetary track on the special edition dvd)
Django Unchained (i believe there is actually a movie just called Django)
Hateful Eight
Death Proof
However, all his movies are great. I love them all. I love his visual style, his dialogue, the homages to past films/film makers, the violence and action and he ALWAYS has killer soundtracks
